I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's rough, Gris.

Hi Amy! Hooray bakery, still! You will probably get used to the tiring parts?

Amy, good to hear from you!

Do you have to eat the bakery mistakes? My sister worked in an ice cream shop in high school, and they got to eat the mistakes, which rapidly became a problem...

I massage my kale sometimes, but mostly I just ribbon it and dress it, and it's totally fine.

And now it looks like my helpful tip from my last foray into plumbing has at least got them cold water in the house (aka shouldn't there be a cutoff to * just* the water heater...oh, look, there is!) but still may avail of my shower since cold showers suck.

Scuzzy is a terrible name for anything, much less a vibrating beaver! Good lord.

Gris, best of luck. Just a few more months until the school year is over?

Jesse, I know that feeling well.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Flight home was delayed 3.5 hours. Have retrieved dog and am now in bed. Mac is packed to fly right out again tomorrow morning to see his uncle. Oz, the cat who hissed and swatted at the sitters to such an extent they could neither give him meds nor pet him, he sniffle me for a second then is purring, flopping, and asking for belly rubs! Infuriating. He is going to have to be boarded for any future trips and treated as a hostile cat.

Because books.

::waves at everyone::

The bakery isn't technically open for business till Thursday. Right now it's the last-minute crash to prepare, and there are a zillion things still to do. BUT we have been tasting all the bread and pastry, because the bakers are figuring out the new ovens and fine-tuning recipes. And honestly I'm running so much, up and down from the basement, bending, squatting, cleaning, sorting, that I'm not worried about the extra carbs. Yet.

I do love it. The owner is just fantastic and the young head baker is in love with his job and with bread and life, so it's all really chaotic and frantic right now, but also really wonderful.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Amy, that sounds wonderful! I'm glad you're enjoying the job so far.

msbelle, sorry for the cat drama.

Because books.

It's really cool to be part of this really small team she chose, and to be responsible for all the front of the house/retail stuff. Also a little nerve-wracking, but it feels good.

I do miss being here, though. It's a little lonely at home, being on my own with Sara. But Ben is here a lot, and texts an calls, and Claire is a wonderful house mother, if I can call her that. Just a lot of adjustments at once.
