"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Amy, that sounds wonderful! I'm glad you're enjoying the job so far.

msbelle, sorry for the cat drama.

Because books.

It's really cool to be part of this really small team she chose, and to be responsible for all the front of the house/retail stuff. Also a little nerve-wracking, but it feels good.

I do miss being here, though. It's a little lonely at home, being on my own with Sara. But Ben is here a lot, and texts an calls, and Claire is a wonderful house mother, if I can call her that. Just a lot of adjustments at once.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

We miss you too, Amy! But the bakery sounds great. And the pre-opening rush of any place is always weirdly giddy.

Last entertainment of this evening is "Intro to Felt Surrogacy," for which I have brought out Puppet!Angel. I feel he needs to see it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is a lot of change to deal with. The bakery startup sounds fabulous!

Amy, just remember we're always here, even if you aren't. We're pulling for you. It is a lot.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Amy, that sounds like a wonderful job!

msbelle, hope you enjoyed the vacation, and welcome home! Oz loves only you.

I hope nachos-and-cheese is an acceptable dinner, because that is what I had.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

We miss you Amy, and if you have a free evening sometime, and want to Skype and drink and watch a show, I'd be your buddy!

Gris, what class is it? Lots of teachers, current and former, on here -- you're English teacher, too, right? Maybe we could help?

ION, why is it that when you are married, all these cute guys who you would have KILLED to have hit on you when you were single and looking, are all "Heeeey!" It's so disconcerting, and amusing. I think it's because being happily married takes the pressure off and you're just being you, doing your thing, and that's attractive. You can be bold and flirt and it's just a fun thing to do -- not a mating dance.

(I've also lost weight, and am more body confident, and while I think that may play into it to, I really think it's the mental confidence that does it.)

That moment when you've been talking or dancing with some cute guy (I don't wear my cheapy wedding ring because it doesn't fit anymore, and we're STILL paying on my REAL wedding ring) and he'll make a play, and I'll smile and be all "Well, my husband might not be happy about that. But nice try, though! You're sweet and cute and a lot of fun; I'll be your wingwoman!"

Random thought; it just cracks me up.

Glad you feel better, Gris!

I use the Sleep Cycle app on my phone as an alarm, it's supposed to gently wake you up by sensing when you are already not too deeply asleep in the half hour before the time set and playing a sound and vibrating. You can tap it to snooze and it'll try again within the same window or you can swipe up and officially be awak. This morning when it went off, I fuzzily looked at the screen to see what time it was, as I often do, and saw a popup advising me to update th iOS. And clicked "Update Now". And then the alarm went off and I couldn't swipe up so the alarm just kept going off, getting louder and adding more signals.

So, don't do that, is what I'm saying.
