( continues...) magazines that I haven't looked at in a decade, though.
Throw them out! You haven't looked at them in a decade. All the information in them is either superseded by newer info, or available in an archive somewhere online. Take a deep breath, sneeze from the dust, take another deep breath, and throw them out.
Congrats on paying off the mortgage, Zenkitty!
Congratulations, Zen! That's awesome!
-t, I'm glad your dad is ok.
Congrats, Zenkitty!
Exactly this. I've gotten rid of bags and bags of stuff, and yet there seems to be as much clutter as there was to begin with.
When I decluttered with FlyLady, there was a stage where it felt like the progress just wasn't progressing. The first little baby steps do show up and that feels great, then it's like this bog where everything is going nowhere. But if you keep at it, a little at a time, one day there's this huge leap where the mess just feels so much lighter. That feels terrific. I encourage you all to keep at it until you get there. The clutter did not accumulate overnight, and it won't go away fast either. But it will go away.
Woo hoo, Zen! That's fantastic! I'm so happy for you.
So the toilet is fixed, but I feel a little foolish. It wasn't a big deal--just the supply line. I could have replaced that for $15, but I called the home warranty folks and that's a $75 fee no matter how easy or hard the job is. Next time I'll know better.
I've got this crazy idea to paint the stair rail a high-gloss black. It's stained a color that appears nowhere else in this house, and it's ugly. All of the rest of the trim is high-gloss white, but I think it would look great in black (and show much less dirt than white). Am I nuts?
High gloss black does sound like an excellent contrast to high gloss white. But beware dust showing on it.
I paid off my mortgage today. PAID. OFF.
That is FANTASTIC! I hope you're celebrating!
Congrats Zen!
A kitten just showed up in our yard. It is now in our back bathroom while I am trying to find its owner. Oops.
This is how my family has gotten just about every cat we've ever owned. double oops.
Franny is beyond excite!
I hope you're celebrating!
Um, I'm working late. And eating ice cream. Does that count?
Thanks, all. I'm giddy. I'm walking around pointing at things and yelling MINE HAHAHA. Pine trees! Driveway! Ugly old fence! MINE. I dunno, it feels different. It gives me great peace of mind, to know that I have a place to live that - barring eminent domain landgrabs and other gov'mint fuckery - can't be taken away from me.

Congrats on your new kitten, Burrell. I suggest you name it Inconvenient Delight.
Congrats, Zen! That's exciting.
