Gwen: Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth. He wasn't wearing lamé though. Lorne: Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is it wrong that I'm upset about my grandfather, but also upset that they're probably going to have the funeral when I'm supposed to be in California seeing friends I only see once a year and enjoying weather above freezing?

It sucks in several ways.

Oh, and if this is useful knowledge: United's change fee for a flight is $200, but you can apply for a refund through their website with a copy of the death certificate.

Thanks. I think my flight's on American. I'll start making calls once I know for sure when the funeral is.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Not at all wrong, shrift.

I think I need to do some outside things today. Buy coffee, definitely (I just realized that here I have been carefully tapering down to where I will be at half-caf next week and then I am going to go on vacation and believe you me I will drink whatever is put in front of me in foreign parts, so what was the point of all that? Self! But continuing because reformulating the plan is too much thinking. I'll cross the start-tapering-again? bridge when I come to it), but probably also mowing the lawn etc.

Thanks, everyone. I went out and bought Reese's peanut butter eggs and whiskey. I'm going to put on pajama pants and watch TV for a while.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good call.

That sounds like an excellent plan.

I went out and got myself lunch and coffee, and on the way home I think it was The Splendid Table was on an whoever hosts was doing an olive oil tasting. The winning oil was from Suisun Valley! Which she pronounced basically backwards, but still, my town on the radio!

I have not tried this oil, myself. Haven't seen it at the local artisan fairs, which is where I usually pick up local oils.

Side yard mown. Swamp cooler reassembled (not into working order, but the pieces are no longer stacked against the side of the house, so that's something). Taking a short break before finishing the front.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

shrift, I'm so sorry. And it's not at all wrong to have conflicting feelings.

Oh shrift, I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm icing my foot again. I hate plantar woes and pain.

The kids and I and Jane did a race in Chinatown with K as our pit crew. Man, having a third adult is the only thing that made that work at all.

I cam home and had a whisky slushie and am feeling better. But a nap would really help.
