I had work today which was very productive even after a failed attempt at coffee. I went to pour my first cup of the day and discovered I'd made a pot of hot water. The perils of making coffee before coffee.

I think I'm going to splurge on the lens that can focus up close as well as far away for the left eye.
Designer eyes! The future, man.
Designer eyes! The future, man.
Now if they would only do that cool "Six Million Dollar Man" noise as I change focus.
Oh Connie, that would be perfect.
Missed marketing opportunity, man.
I had a G&T and wine with dinner, so that's good. Now to test out wine with grading.
Pix you are so lovely, I'm sure anything you would wear is fabulous.
A friend who writes for the WSJ posted this WH press release and I just had to share:
Obama to Universe: "I loved Spock."
THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 27, 2015
Statement by the President on the Passing of Leonard Nimoy
Long before being nerdy was cool, there was Leonard Nimoy. Leonard was a lifelong lover of the arts and humanities, a supporter of the sciences, generous with his talent and his time. And of course, Leonard was Spock. Cool, logical, big-eared and level-headed, the center of Star Trek’s optimistic, inclusive vision of humanity’s future.
I loved Spock.
In 2007, I had the chance to meet Leonard in person. It was only logical to greet him with the Vulcan salute, the universal sign for “Live long and prosper.” And after 83 years on this planet – and on his visits to many others – it’s clear Leonard Nimoy did just that. Michelle and I join his family, friends, and countless fans who miss him so dearly today.

OK one more share, then back to grading. This facebook meme cracks me up.
The last hours of vacation are weird. I resent having to go back to work, but there aren't enough hours to really do anything vacation like so I might as well be in work mode.
I think I'll make popcorn.
Aww, that's awesome. I know he's been a disappointment in a lot of political ways, but I gotta say, as a member of generation whatever, Obama has been fabulous. I feel like he's one of My People in a way no other national politician is.
Met with my handyman, futzed about the house, made a pot of rice-chickpea-feta stew, and saw my niece's new apartment before going out for dinner with the family.
But there was too much garlic in the caesar salad dressing, and my alimentary canal is complaining.
My mom just told me that my grandfather passed away tonight. Now I'm glad I stopped watching depressing movies that were expiring from Netflix Instant and put on the Muppets.
oh, shrift, I'm sorry.
