Timelies all!
The thing we were supposed to go to back in January which was canceled due to the forecast and rescheduled for today? Got canceled due to the forecast. Ah, well...

What a stupid, insulting decision.
That's seriously bullshit. It's not like the snow was a surprise. And I get that the library is an important resource -- I use it all the time and sing its praises (not literally) -- and they don't want to close if they don't have to, but that was shitty, shitty planning.
We got about 5 inches here, by around 10 a.m., and I think there's more on the way. Now I'm REALLY glad we went to the grocery store last night.
I feel like there are only certain times anyone should make a closing decision: By 10pm the night before, by 6am the day of, noon, 3pm. If you're going to force people to go in, you have to make it worthwhile to be there.
Went to the UPS store and the library, in a record-breaking feet of two Saturday mornings in a row out of the house!

Yes, this!! Asking people to be in at 8 and then closing at 8:30??? Not only stupid and insulting, but now you've forced people into TWO really dangerous commutes in bad weather!

Yes. Our work often decides to send people home at the last minute, sending us out in the worst of the storm.
My cold really is getting better...except that I can't lie down without coughing constantly. Last night, after trying to sleep in bed propped up by pillows, I tried again to sleep sitting up on the couch, bolstered by pillows. (Thankfully, I own a lot of pillows.) Around 3, I succumbed and took probably twice the amount of cough syrup one is supposed to take (on top of the Tylenol cold w. cough suppressant I had already took) and finally I could sleep. Ugh. I should have gone to the doctor for the good stuff.
So today, thanks to the huge dose of cold meds and my slow metabolism, I can barely move, and I need to get some stuff done.
Well, that started way earlier than expected. Target was fine. TJs was a madhouse, so I skipped The Giant. Somehow a couple inches this afternoon then rain turned into 3-5" starting at 10 am.
I am at a hipster hotdog joint.
We've gotten another 2-3 inches this morning and it's expected to snow all day. And then tomorrow it will be 50! Whatever, Nature. You're drunk.
Sue, you know not to take more than the recommended dose of Tylenol, right? I mean, I slug cough medicine straight from the bottle with little regard for dosing, but Tylenol is dangerous.
My job will usually announce closing the afternoon before bad weather is predicted, but we can all work from home and they expect us to, even when the physical building is closed.
Snowing here. At least this forecast turned out to be accurate, as opposed to the one in January that didn't pan out.
