this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm afraid we're going to warm up enough that Saturday's precipitation is wintry mix that then freezes into a disaster. The one time I don't want it to warm up!

We're having that weirdness, too; our high today won't be until midnight, and then it's going to warm up into the 30s tomorrow, so the forecasted snow is likely to have wintry mix as well. Which means we're going to the grocery store tonight, with the rest of Cincinnati (Tim was already planning to take his dad to the store like he does every week, so we might as well get our groceries tonight instead of tomorrow).

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm afraid we're going to warm up enough that Saturday's precipitation is wintry mix that then freezes into a disaster.

That's exactly what I'm expecting here, too. I just went out, for the first time in three days, to refill the birdfeeder and lay in a few more supplies.

My next-door neighbors had their first baby February 16 and I just met him! Arun Kumar, a beautiful baby boy. His parents are just glowing.

We are expecting at least a foot of snow over the weekend but it is beautiful out today.

Y'all I just bought tickets to see Eddie Izzard in May!!! He is here in late May, a few days after CJ graduates high school, so these will be his grad present. So flipping excited but now I have to keep it a secret.

We are expecting even more snow in the mountains. Each year CJ's search and rescue team does a winter overnight where they go up, dig a snow cave, spend the night, and then come home the next day. That training is scheduled for this weekend and the chief just sent out a message postponing the training. Not worth the risk for training purposes but if they get an actual rescue call, they will head into the snow.

hip deep in pie

We're getting rain then freezing on Sunday. It does not bode well for my pre-Oscar potluck.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sj, it was all, fuck you and you and YOU, taking care of me, finally. And Mellie. Oh, Mellie too.

I'm appreciative of this of late.

Yes, so awesome! I've been waiting for Olivia to figure out that Fitz is kind of an asshole.

Plus Stephen ! I loved that character and wish he was staying.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just got off the train from work. On Friday afternoon the train is often filled with people from up north going to downtown Chicago to party, and they start drinking on the train.

When I got off the train today I noticed the smell of pot smoke in the vestibule. Never noticed that before.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, a coworker has her twin two-year-olds in the office, and they are both wearing Batman shirts with capes!

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

I wish I had Batman-caped two year olds! Instead, I'm headed off to help bargain the faculty contract. Why did I agree to this?

Re: appraisals: mine was literally a drive-by. The appraisers drove by and took a photo without even getting out of their car. If it's good enough for the bank, it's good enough for me, I guess.

I told the clerk at Dollar General it would be a miracle if I don't end up throwing my glass-breaker through someone's windshield before the day is over. Icy road conditions compounded by idiots talking on their cellphones and stopping suddenly for left turns without signaling.
