I've vacuumed the whole house and mopped the first. I'll do the second after my swim. Also cleared my sidewalks and car.

The walk to the Y is going to be brutal.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I went running this morning and now I'm lazing about. Do need to buy a new shower curtain, and get some mats from my sister to help TNG get around (her hips are so bad she is afraid to walk on the hardwood floors).

Steph, if you're around, I remember you mentioning something about a connection between sugar and inflammation a while back. I was wondering if you have any cites? I'm so fed up with my inner ear, which eight months after my surgery continues to give me a hard time; it's like the scar tissue just swells up randomly and I get lightheaded and uncomfortable. Makes it really hard to exercise, and it's just kind of lousy.

But the internets are not really helping me on this: I'm getting lots of woo-woo sites without much in the way of real science.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I was awake until 4am this morning, and since getting back up I've eaten lunch, gotten a haircut, dropped off a book about depression with my best friend, and done my week's grocery shopping. I believe I have done enough for one day.

Also, grocery shopping while full didn't save money as planned; it just resulted in me impulse buying kale and salad vegetables.

hip deep in pie

We've gone from snow to rain to freezing rain to a flash freeze here. And due to the city's crappy snow clearing that hasn't including storm drains there's a lot of flooding. There are a lot of streets that have inches of water and slush, which will soon be ice. Blargh.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Still waiting on our snow. We're supposed to get around eight inches by tomorrow morning, which doesn't sound like much. My mom had to brave the grocery store crowds as she was out of vodka and That Would Not Do.

In other news, Finn has just discovered that Spidey's tail is the best toy ever.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Fay is so adventurous! I wish I were that brave.

Truly she is the Travelling Matt of the board's Fraggle Rock.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The con is over, and we're hanging out in the filk room. Had to call and reassure my folks we were ok.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I saw a woman arrested in the CTA train I was in today. Apparently she caused a 20 minute delay earlier on a different train. Now I'm curious as hell as to what she did.

Funny that the cat with the fluffiest tail ever is fascinated with another tail.

Mopped the upstairs in 20 minutes, everything is put back in order. Deployed space heater in kitchen, the draft was getting a bit much. Stupid cold and windy. Towel was solid and the bridge of my nose (only thing really exposed during me walk) feels funny from the exposure, an hour and a half ago.

Shoulders do not like shoveling+vacuum+mop+ swim. Or rather, it shows up in my swimming.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My neighborhood's power just went out, not because of the weather but because of PG&e incompetence. They may have it back on by 7, or maybe 9.

Wooooo
