It's -2 here. Lots of wind. There were a ton of accidents yesterday turns out there was black ice and people were driving too fast.
And it's snowing - not a lot but it's really windy so it's swirling around and blowing the snow off trees and rooftops.
Winter, we hates it.
I'm out and on a bus! My toes got really cold waiting, but my legs were ok in tights and fleece tights. Also my coat goes to my knees and my boots to below my kneesa, so not much exposed leg
The bus is so warm someone has a window open, and my big toes really hurt while warming up! It is still zero/feels like -22
My neighbor seems to be making his way to the snowblower, so I'm just going to wait until he's done before I do the stairs, car, etc.
just started playing portal. really like it but it is making me sick. motion sickness.
Yeah, I had to stop because of the motion sickness. I apparently can't play first-person shooter games, which is annoying. Do better, inner ear!
Last night we went to a Mardi Gras party with a TON of food (gumbo, etouffee, grits with shrimp and andouille, red beans and rice, etc., and SO MANY desserts) and I am still full. The host sent us home with leftovers, so if I ever get hungry again, I am chowing down on shrimp and grits. Yum.
Temperatures are in the 40s and 50s, which is much more typical for this time of year, but only one day of rain in the next couple fo days. The people who were wearing shorts and tank tops will be annoyed. Stupid Californians! Put on some clothes!
Fay live blogging a close encounter by moonlight with a hippo from her tent in Africa as we speak. Technology is wonderful.
The cats seem to be getting along, but Finn has lost a lot of interest in eating.
Poor Finn. Even a really smooth introduction (which it looks like they had!) is still a big disruption, and cats hate that. Do you have a place where you can set up their food bowls out of sight from each other, at least until Spidey is really settled in?
I feel a little bad about my utter lack of ambition today despite not being trapped by weather, but I think I will try embracing it and see how that goes. Pot of tea by the fire coming up.
Keep warm, people! I'm not planning on leaving the house for the next few days. I may not even go out to get the mail.
We had really strong winds all night last night. Lost power around midnight. I was unprepared, I had to feel my way through the house to get an LED candle, and with that found the flashlight under my bedside table. But they got the power back on about 4am, so that wasn't so bad.

Fay is so adventurous! I wish I were that brave.
