Also, there are a few food trucks that do acai bowls here.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Not possible, Kat. Tha rule is jam yesterday and jam tomorrow, never jam today.
It's totally too hot in summer in LA for jam.
I walked through the rain even though I was wearing the wrong shoes, and I still think it was a good call because you know the bus is a shitshow in the rain!
The only acai bowl I've had was in San Diego, and involved what seemed to be more of am acai-flavored sorbet/smoothie of sorts? With various other fruits and some granola on top. It was delicious!
The sky is greenish and thundery outside. I think if I really want a burrito for dinner I'm going to have to order it now, from the place right next door (instead of from the slightly better place a half-mile away).
Swim busted. Still stray thunder. If I had anything resembling energy, I'd hit up home despot. But thanks to this weather, I've been a giant headache all day.
I wish it would rain already. We have a weather advisory for monsoons and yet, nothing.
I put together our new ikea chair to replace our old ikea chair. I'm living the life!
We have storms here also and I hope it means everything cancels for tomorrow, even though I SPENT ALL DAY MOVING THINGS AROUND AND WORKING ANGLES TO GET THE SCHEDULE TO WORK!!!! I HATE MY JOB!
ahem, ION, I am preparing to apply to for jobs RIGHT NOW.
I am looking at school district jobs and they base their pay scales on the # of days to work each year.
I think I need hive mind help. I currently make X and work 329 days a year plus I get overtime for anything over 40 hours and I average about 5 hours per week. If I add the overtime to the regular pay, I can break that down to hourly pay, say Y per hour.
Two jobs I am looking at currently are listed with the midpoint salary at Y-4 per hour, 243 days per year and I doubt there would be much overtime. So not insignificant pay drop. more than $15K.
BUT when I look at per day income, it is less than 30 minutes of pay difference because I would be working 86 FEWER DAYS!!! HOLY SHITBALLS! 86 days, I could cook a lot more and save $ on eating out, but also have time for weekend trips which would cost $$. I need a pro/con sheet. I guess I should also work up a SERIOUS household budget. DO NOT WANT!!
I told a friend on Facebook that I hadn't seen the Lego movie yet. I haven't actually seen this guy in years, though I've commented on a few of his Facebook posts. He messaged me wondering if I'd like to drive up to a theater near him to watch it so I'd have company when I saw it (I mentioned I was going to see it with Hubby). I declined, citing unwillingness to drive up there and how late I'd get home. He then offered to find a Redbox copy and bring it down to me, or find it on Amazon.com. I declined again.
Maybe he's just that big on sharing movies he loves. I really, really doubt he's interested in a new widow, because he's gay (the first gay person I knowingly met, decades ago). But it was weird that he was pressing me into a meet-up to watch the movie. Perhaps it just social cluelessness. I certainly know several men who lack social awareness. Just . . . odd.
