We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So hard to get out even a few minutes earlier than usual, but I have an 8 am meeting, so I'm catching an earlier bus. Better be on time!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I gave myself enough time for breakfast that I was actually early to work. Kinda nice. Gorgeous sunrise (pre dawn sky, I suppose, technically, but very pink and pretty).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This doesn't in any way equate, but the Little League drama this morning is also really depressing.

Oh, I just looked that up. That sucks! What a drag.

Happy birthday, minus-t!

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Looked it up, too. That is depressing. Today: getting the face from me.

Except for -t birthday!

ARGH. Our seller is not willing to do almost all of the things we asked. Including FIXING THE ELECTRICAL CODE VIOLATIONS.

In good news, though, my niece had the tubes-in-her-ears surgery this morning and it went fine.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Does your seller think that these things will magically fix themselves?

Can you get a substantial price discount? Or is the seller just completely inflexible?

(I'm sorry. Home-buying can drive you nuts.)

Because books.

That's horrifying, amyth. Jesus.

Do I want to know what's happening with Little League?

Off to meet a woman who's opening a French bakery/grocery here in town, and may have a job for me. (The editing is awesome but in no way fulltime, at least not paywise.) I'm dreaming of brioche.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was up past midnight last night, so I slept an hour late this morning and then drove to work to partially make up for the late start. I'm so tired I went through the McDonalds drive-through, ordered and paid for my food and drove off without picking it up. I realized my mistake a half a block away, so that wasn't so bad.

Vaguely related, yesterday I saw a 1980s Japanese McDonalds commercial which talked about their new drive-through. They said "drive-through" in English, not Japanese.
