You'd never make it. I'd rip your spine out before you got half a step. Those little legs wouldn't be much good without one of those.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is fucked up, sarameg.

I don't think I need "oxt". I don't make that many weekend plans, I'll usually specify the date. I can see the need for a "me and you" us distinct from a "me and them" us. Mexican food for breakfast also sounds good.

I found the slate article about "inclusive we":

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I wish there were an english solution more elegant than 'in-we' which sounds like something you do in the WC.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I declare this week to be fucking done, even though it's Monday. In addition to the work bullshit, I got a notice that my 2014 property taxes weren't paid on my new house. They were supposed to have been paid with funds from the settlement. The settlement company is now out of business. Guess who had to unearth her HUD-1 and title insurance policy in the midst of the rest of the crap today?

I still haven't started drinking. I was working until 8, and barely managed popcorn for dinner. I'm done for the evening. I'll get up and try again tomorrow.

You people need to talk more. I am bored, but I don't want to use up the stash of books that I have started accumulating for my vacation in two weeks. But I might have to!!

Y'all, I already did my taxes, I put together all the info for refinancing my mortage and applied online, I"ve done three loads of laundry....it's not fun to play dress-up in my closet by myself...all my friends in town seem to be busy until Thursday (why aren't some of them free OTHER days???)

ETA: Oh, geez, Maria--that's not what I wanted to hear when I demanded posting! So sorry and sucky. Hope the taxes thing works out. :(

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Well, fuck, Maria.

sarameg, I trust you weren't hurt badly.

In Onerous Task news, I made myself enroll in the identity theft protection thingy included in AAA membership. I swear, interacting with that website was like pulling teeth out of molasses in January. It took each page 3 minutes to load up AND they don't tell you what characters are acceptable in which fields until you hit "save" so it can take three minutes to load up the page that tells you to edit the entry. Then it takes another three minutes to save the corrected information. Then it takes another three minutes to load up the page for entering another set of information. Grr, Arrrgh.

Hah, meara! It's ok. It's just a huge PITA. The title insurance will cover it, including the penalties and interest, and going forward it won't be a problem. Nibbled to death by ducks, I tell ya....

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Too many ducks, Maria!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, ugh, Maria.

My bitch of the day is that the new workplace, which is only 20 minutes by car (assuming one has a parking space, which I don't), is 30 minutes by shuttle and 55 minutes by bus, and the shuttles leave only once every 20 minutes (with the direct shuttle not even starting until 7AM), so in order to be there in time to do all the setup needed for the 7:30 Tuesday morning I need to be at the old workplace in time to catch the 5:50 shuttle and be there by 6:33, because 6:53 will be too late. So, knowing my early morning habits, I must be up and at 'em by 4:45 every Tuesday morning, and if I miss that 5:50 I'm fucked.

Not that I haven't gotten up that early regularly before, but back then it was for a performing arts high school and I was filled with hopes and dreams and the absurd fiery energy of teenagerhood, and now I am old and bitter and full of don't wanna.

OTOH, at least I live in SF and this is a once a week thing, whereas if I were one of the Seattle transplants who foolishly bought a house out in Contra Costa 4:45 AM would be tediously normal.

Still, SO DO NOT WANNA.

Ugh, Maria.

Also ugh to JZ. It's one thing to choose a longer commute for your own reasons, but to have your workplace move to a less convenient location to the extent that you have to get up at a ridic early hour on the regular is really just unfair.
