I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay for pain-free Suzi! May it continue.

Because books.

Pain-free is excellent, Suzi!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Phew, Suzi.

Thanks for letting me fuss here about my face. Once again, I love the buffista-fen.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Glad the medicine is starting to work, Suzi!

Kat, I didn't realize that getting the trache out was going to be so fraught! Much ~ma to all of you.

Tom, that comic explains everything!

That house is magnificent. If we all pool all our money and assets, we could buy it. We could sell all the deer heads and pay for a year of lawn care, then buy goats. I looked at a map - that place is on the far northern tip of Scotland, 5.5 hours from Edinburgh. It's in the middle of NOWHERE. I wonder if it gets internet.

Because books.

And ZenKitty points out the possible flaw in our plan ...

brillig

It's a gloriously beautiful day in Utah today. Nearly a foot of snow fell in the mountains yesterday, so all that bare granite has a new blanket of white (about half a foot expected today in places). The sun is out, the fields are green, bright flowers all over the place, blue sky with big poofy clouds.

And we had a wildfire about five miles from my office on Monday and it should be in the 90s come Friday. Lots of water to encourage the grass and brush, and hot dry weather to dry it out, just in time for fireworks season!

Yay, spring in Utah!

Grousing: I just don't want to deal with this work stuff. I talked to my boss for an hour about my "target goal" for this year, and I still have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I hate arbitrary "goals". Who got the idea to treat every job as if it required continuous improvement? Why isn't it okay that I'm good at it and I continue to be good at it? I'm not in sales. I'm not seeking to advance in my career. I'm 15 years from retirement (I hope). Leave me alone and let me do the job I'm good at.

Fair enough! I stopped reading it a while ago for no apparent reason, so I guess I agree with you. I was kind of hoping it had gone off the rails in some entertaining way.
