Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Timlies!

I woke up feeling icky, in an unspecific way. And now I have no ambition to get anything I need to do done. I just want a nap.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I feel like we haven't heard from omnis in a while. Am I wrong? Have I just missed his posts?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am running a virus scan on this blasted machine. 2 infected files found so far and not even a qtr done. 2 windows keep popping up about mal ware scan and I know those are themselves mal ware. Ugh. I am so out of my depth on this. I just want them gone and for this thing to run faster.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

RIP Dean Smith. A great coach and a great human being.

He was a good man, and he made Chapel Hill a much better institution than it might otherwise have been.

Sarameg, I have a whole new respect for your ongoing renovation efforts. I've been helping a friend of a friend get her rental house ready to go on the market, and just four hours of priming and painting a day leaves me totally worn out.

ETA: Msbelle, Malwarebytes is a good, free anti-malware program. I would recommend downloading it and seeing if that clears up Mac's computer's problems. [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Have decided that I need to do three loads of laundry to get through the coming week, and have the first of those in the washer with the other two on deck. If I get some meals cooked today, great; if I don't, eating out every meal is also okay.

I will set my expectations higher next weekend, probably.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Did the laundry, but haven't made my bed yet. I tried to go to the supermarket, but it was a total clusterfuck, obviously, so went to the liquor store instead. Seems like a fair tradeoff! Also, I scraped up a ton of ice off the front walk, but it will probably come back tomorrow, along with the million new feet of snow. Good times.

I can't imagine that much snow, Jesse, dang.

I got up early, sat around for a couple hours, and then managed to drag myself to Goodwill to donate some crap, and then to the park (because it's a nice day out!) to run. And then the grocery store. But the dude who was supposed to pick up my old dining room table and chairs just bailed, so now I think I need to load those up and make another trip to Goodwill. But perhaps I will do some more closet-sorting first. And laundry. And stuff.

Also trying to decide if I want to try to do some DIY stuff at home (changing out a wall sconce and a hanging light to different ones; changing the deadbolt to a keypad lock), which are supposedly simple, but I suspect I will screw up. But a professional could do them in about 10 minutes each, which seems silly to pay for. Ugh.

I'm pretty proud of myself that I thought to start using the garden shovel on the ice -- it's way better than the combination of ice breaker and plastic shovel I was doing before. And I got the idea from a professional! Last winter, one of the guys who had done all the work on my apartment came by to check on us and he got the ice off the front steps in approximately .1 seconds, thanks to a metal shovel. That guy is the nicest!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It's almost 70 degrees here. It was freezing a couple days ago, and in a couple days will be freezing again. Whatever, Nature.

information libertarian

Yeah, it's 50 degrees in Ohio today. I think I convinced my mother, who is in Boston, 65, and has a head cold, that she should ask her stepdaughter's husband, WHO OWNS A LANDSCAPING COMPANY WHOSE MAIN BUSINESS IN WINTER IS SNOW REMOVAL to do her shoveling today. Did I mention they live next door? My mother is very tough and reluctant to ask for help, sometimes to her own detriment.
