"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am not supposed to have this particular issue in the summer. I wish to complain to whomever is in charge.

Can I add my name to that complaint?

Absolutely.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I need to share my crazy dream:

I was at an Oprah show with one of my cousins (the cousin I am least close with). It wasn't in the normal Oprah studio, it was a smaller show and we were there as part of a small audience just standing off camera. We seemed to know Oprah somehow because we were very casual with her. Her guests were some senior citizen dance group and Robin Thicke (WHAT?). Oprah and Robin were being gross gross flirty, was weird. Then we all went to a Dolly Parton concert and I was sitting in the crowd with Robin and Will Smith. (all of this soooo random). For some reason I kept sitting sideways in my seat and putting my feet and legs on Robin and Will, which they were fine with. Oprah was down closer to stage and was like a giant fangirl, dancing and screaming for Dolly.

YOU ARE WELCOME TO MY BRAIN.

Robin Thicke = nightmare.

I finally (FINALLY!) figured out what to do with the excess number of figs our tree produces: figgie spread with balsamic vinegar. I made several jars with the first harvesting and I'm sure I'll have to do more.

(While I was at it, I also canned some peaches for winter -- this is my inner midwesterner at work).

We still have dried figs in the freezer for fig newtons.

Kat, that sounds delicious!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That sounds delicious, Kat. If this is the work of your inner midwesterner, I'm rooting for her.

A drum troupe(?) just marched down the street my alley empties on, lead by a fire truck. Headed to the Caribbean Fest, no doubt, but that was unexpected!

I love a good marching drum corps.

Floor is officially mopped in the kitchen (the result of a making jelly is always having to mop the floor).

I should do the bathroom while I'm on it. Yet, I'd rather sit around and read.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My mother is giving me a book to read that's due back at the library on Friday. It might be a sacrifice to sit on the porch and read after work but I am willing to take it on!
