I had a meeting with my manager this morning that completely demoralized me. In my last performance review, which was PRETTY RECENT, I got a good score and Exceeds. In my role, I'm a special snowflake and the only round peg on a team of square pegs, so it's really hard to compare me to my peers. I'm going to be lucky if I squeak by with a "meets expectations" because my manager's manager doesn't "get" what I do. Now I have to jump through all the hoops to justify my existence when I don't even want to be here. Thanks, reorg. Thanks a bunch.

I am nodding at you unhappily. I need to find a new internal role ASAP, and if that doesn't happen, then I will need to take a sabbatical or leave the company before they decide to get rid of me for being a low performer.
FWIW, I have seen couples who separate come back together with better harmony than they had before, so. But some time apart, where you're all safe, is good.
I had a good morning of Ubering. Just getting out and making a mild amount of money has improved my overall long-term mood immensely.
That's the thing about a big crisis, it really is an opportunity to think about what you want, how things ought to be, and how to get there from where you are, even if the things you are thinking about are not directly related to the crisis.

For what it's worth, I'd say leave the company if at all possible, because that's a sign of a toxic culture.

Where do people get the vajayjays to have those kinds of meetings? I would have a really hard time calling a meeting with someone and telling gem they sucked. I have no issue telling people when they should have done something they neglected to cover, but just generally "you are bad at your job and I am telling people"? No.
