Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Had work review thing. Did not fall into a giant hole in the ground. Was given mostly the nice kind of feedback. Decided that continued state of being employed means I deserved the good tacos for lunch.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hooray tacos (and continuing employment with mostly nice feedback)!

I had magic soup (Tom Yum, magic because it makes me feel so much better if I eat it when I am congested) for lunch, and I have leftovers for maybe tomorrow, maybe tonight.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

We have a mission statement.

How were you able to get any work done before if you didn't have a mission statement?

Damn my lack of a good musket!

Managed to take off early from my site here and stop at Marshalls--and found the mother load of baggalini bags (which I love and I know a couple other folks here have). Not on clearance but still cheap enough that I'm buying two. ;)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

After 4 weeks of no hot water, we finally have a new water heater.

I feel kinda like this should be profiled in Good Stuff, I am so damned happy.

Happy for you, Strix!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

4 Weeks!!!???

I got back the estimate of parts and labor for replacing the engine of my Subaru: $4500. I may have cried out a little, but I soon reminded myself that just the downpayment on a new car, or even the cost of a used car, is way way more. Also, the value of my current car goes from zero to like a significant percentage of what I'd be laying out.

Huge hunk of my remaining savings, but if I get a job that I need the car for commuting with. Maybe by spending the money, the universe will respond by helping me find a job....

4.Fucking. Weeks. Having to do with the basement flooding, and everyone's fave excuse, money.

Took a couple of showers at my friend's house, and at folks', but my last "shower" was a couple of weeks ago at the pool, and it was a rinse and shampoo over the swimsuit, because i forgot clean clothes, and my conditioner fell out in the car.

So it's been sponge baths using Crock-pot warmed water since then. NOT FULFILLING.

FWIW, best goddamned shower of my life so far.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Theo, that's a hurt.

And dang, kids just arrived home and I still had a bit of work to do. Oh well, will just work anyway.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Strix, good heavens, 4 WEEKS without hot water? You might as well have gone camping!

(I hate camping.)

Theo, ouch. But you're right, a new/used car would have cost much more, and Subarus are tough little things worth repairing.

the mother load of baggalini bags

Ahh, Baggalinis. I have about five of 'em. I carried one little crossbody purse all through Ireland and it carried everything I needed for all-day outings. Amazing. Like a little Tardis. Should've bought it in blue.
