Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

OMG folks I wasn't seriously questioning the questionable links!!

So my son has introduced the family to a questionable game called Butt's Up. DH went to look it up on Wikipedia and it turns out Butt's Up has numerous names, including Balls Deep, Fire in the Bum, Wall Ball, and my personal favorite for a grade school game, Assies Rehab and Tea. WTF?

Among the rules are: "In some variations of the game there is no specific object of the game."

Good morning, lovelies.

'Night, Luna!

I should perhaps mention that I named my daughter Luna. I was very confused as to why you were wishing her a goodnight when she'd been asleep for hours. Then my brain caught up.

And keeping my sympathies separate from the NSFW link, had we all seen this?

No, but now we can never un-see it. I agree about the creepy serial killer vibe. I found myself staring at it for a surprising amount of time, just trying to imagine the sexy.

She'd have wanted us to talk about vagankles.

This fact makes the link no less disturbing!

You JUST noticed this???

{pats Aims on the head and makes sympathetic noises}

I don't mock fannishness, even when it's of something I myself am not a fan of.

Why can't all fan people be that way? Seriously, why do people laugh at me when they hear I am a Buffy fan or a Doctor Who fan, but do not laugh at my brother who is a Ravens fan?

I have to brag on my two-year-old for a minute: We went out for dim sum this morning, and she tried a whole bunch of new things quite happily, and liked most of them, and was perfectly content to chew on curried chicken dumplings while we waited (and waited) for the cart with the sweet buns to come around.

I hope she maintains it! My daughter used to be good about this, too, but not so much anymore. She still eats a lot of things other kids would scream in horror at, but she's a drama queen when she has to try something new. Lately she just eats nothing. I marvel at children's ability to exist on nothing but air and still have more energy than me.

Its snowing in Belgium, which is rare. Luna convinced me she was sick enough to stay home from school today, and while I suspect she could have soldiered through (its just a nasty cold, so far), I am glad she gets to watch the snow.

I am very excited to tune in via Hangout for the mini-F2F tonight! Its crazy to think that the last time I was an active part of this board, video chatting wasn't even a thing yet!

OMG that Wikipedia on Butt's Up is hilarious. [link] It turns out it's just (a very complicated version of) Wall Ball/Suicide.

I am so not into working today. And one of my coworkers fucked something up over the weekend and left for me to clean up. WHY? This is why you don't helpfully work when we're not open, damnit.

Could use some health -ma for my mom. She called me at 4 am her time this morning to tell me she was going to the ER with abdominal pain. She just came out of a CT scan and has a partial bowel blockage. They are putting in a pump and hoping to avoid surgery. This happened to her years ago, but it was a total blockage with a break in the bowel. So not as bad as that, but still very very serious because her insides are already filled with scar tissue from prior bowel surgeries and numerous hernia surgeries. Being 4,000 miles away sucks more than I can say. All I can do is sit here awaiting text updates from my aunt.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I somehow ended up with 160ish posts to read here. Daniel and I had a delicious lunch yesterday at the Thai place (small town Minnesota, can support more than one Chinese buffet, but only one each of Japanese and Thai restaurants). Absolutely amazing. Why didn't any one tell me how much I would love basil in stir fry?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Lots of ~ma for your mother, Callaluna.
