Could use some health -ma for my mom. She called me at 4 am her time this morning to tell me she was going to the ER with abdominal pain. She just came out of a CT scan and has a partial bowel blockage. They are putting in a pump and hoping to avoid surgery. This happened to her years ago, but it was a total blockage with a break in the bowel. So not as bad as that, but still very very serious because her insides are already filled with scar tissue from prior bowel surgeries and numerous hernia surgeries. Being 4,000 miles away sucks more than I can say. All I can do is sit here awaiting text updates from my aunt.

Daniel and I had a delicious lunch yesterday at the Thai place (small town Minnesota, can support more than one Chinese buffet, but only one each of Japanese and Thai restaurants). Absolutely amazing. Why didn't any one tell me how much I would love basil in stir fry?
