See, no one has said squat to me on my post of football confession.
Me neither!
(My mom commented to say that my dad was cooking salmon carbonara for the Patriots game and that it was weird game day food, but I don't really think that counts.)
I am not overstating the matter when I say that FB is the ONLY reason I know when sports things are happening, and even then the details are vague. I'm more likely to know what city is having a sports event happening to it (based on who's reacting to it) than which sport is happening.
At least in the last quarter and the OT, they did.
I'm fairly certain they weren't for the first 3/4ths of the game, though.
My mom can't figure out how she raised 2 nonfootball kids.BECAUSE WE NEVER WATCHED FOOTBALL. Unless it was the hometown hs rivalry, which turns out ranks nationally up there with Odessa's. FNL was not unfamiliar. And even then, it was social necessity, not actual interest, fergawdsake.
My brother and I had no idea she liked football until he moved to B'ham 12 years ago and was aghast he didn't know who Bear Bryant was. (I didn't either.)
And all the tsuris trying to reach them and my mom's about to hop in the shower, they'll call me back. Banging my head on ... couch.
edit: Heck, I don't even know when the Super Bowl is.
The only reason I have an approximate idea as to its date is that it's always right around my birthday.
I sort of root for the Saints, because of people here. I also kind of root for the Patriots, because my mom's family would skin me alive, otherwise.
I still call them the Seattle Sadbirds, as Stephen Colbert taught me.
Asking for a cocktail with rum and ginger beer got me a "black and stormy" in a Moscow mule mug. It'll do.

Isn't that what a rum and ginger beer is called? Or is that dark and stormy?
I guess so? I'm not good with cocktails. That's why I ordered by ingredients.
I want to root for the Ravens because Poe, colors! but the Ray Lewis and wife puncher kinda sour it all. Orioles at least are moderately more nice.
But mostly, I don't care. Except as it affects traffic.
Reposting from the wrong thread:
I wish I had seen the vajankle before my dinner party.
Also, my guests had no idea that cats had belly buttons. I was like, how can you not know about cat belly buttons? They're the best!
