Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I saw your FB post and liked it. We can be elitist together and look down our noses at the dickwads. I find good natured football fans humorous. That may be elitist, but honestly, they're funny.

Also, I'm back at b.org for less than a week and already I'm using terms like dickwad. At least I figured out spoiler font again. I hope.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Did you delete the post, Steph?

Maybe I'm just old, but that kind of drama baiting is just intolerable to me.

Yeah, seriously. I mean, I genuinely don't give a crap if someone wants to make fun of me for being a comic-book media geek. Honestly. They could mock me to my face and I would just laugh. But apparently I have a problem when people mistake my genuine lack of knowledge for making fun of something. That right there is a comprehension problem on their part, not a dick move on my part.

I don't follow football, but I don't think people who do are mock-worthy. Come on. I'm posting on a board that started as a BTVS fan board. I don't mock fannishness, even when it's of something I myself am not a fan of.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Their comment seems like a radical interpretation of the text of your comment, Tep.

It may have been a chance to air a long-festering (and previously unknown on my part) grievance against me. I have no idea. I'm annoyed, but at the same time my reaction is, hey, this is useful information so that I know who to expend friendship-type energy on and who to shuffle out to the sees-at-occasional-parties status. Ain't nobody got time for that.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

See, no one has said squat to me on my post of football confession.

Where, OK, I'm downplaying my tragic knowledge of the actual game results, and the fact that I know that Sherman got injured at some point, which, depending on the injury may have repercussions in two weeks at the Superb Owl.

BUT IT IS NOT LIKE I WANT TO KNOW THESE THINGS.

I just sort of... do.

Sophia, that's funny.

I saw your post after experiencing the attempt to shame me for liking something other than football, and it made me laugh SO HARD for the sheer juxtaposition of it. Your friends are awesome.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

"Did you see that ludicrous display last night?"
