The status is NOT quo.

That sounds like something I would do.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David, you need a coffee alarm clock. Possibly, we all do.

Unfortunately, since I drink a cappuccino what I need is a live-in barista.

The deal in our family is that whomever gets up first has to make the cappuccino. And if they are laggard in this activity, then Matilda will be sent out to inquire on why so slack.

If I only had a brain...

Because the UK's house voltage is over double the US standard, they can boil water way fast. This led to the fabulously steampunky-looking Teasmade, which was an alarm clock that made your tea for you. Very civilized indeed IMHO.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Didn't die on a Stairmaster again, naturally. (David Simon found the one guarantee about this whole wheelchair thing.) Here for bit, then doing fingernails and nagging draft dodging peace freaks in NY to come to this rally against Citizen's United, because that's what happens when volunteer coordinators switch addictions.(That guy is unstoppable, which kind of makes me shrug like "I'm not doing anything else." My lack of a life is the movement's gain.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Morning. I'm sipping my second cup of coffee. Believe me, only incoherency exists before and during my first cup.

Nice to see you all here. And now, back to catch up.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

This morning's coffee had to wait until I'd driven over to Peets and bought some beans. Always a risky proposition, driving before coffee. Drove past ita's place, or rather drove past the street I used to take to her place, and got sad.

So I am now the proud owner of a MacBook Air. OMGosh the screen is so much prettier than my old one! And it updated itself all by itself! We are living in the future people! Even more wondrous is DH ordered new phones for the both of us last night when he realized he could get two phones and a new phone contract for less than my old contract on my old 3GS. (Which means we were being boneheads and overpaying out of laziness, but at least now we'll have a better phone plan and new phones for what feels like free (even though I know it isn't).)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I wanted to sleep like the dead, so I took benedryl and nyquil last night, but still woke up midway through with post-nasal drip, argh. Went for a walk with my sister and had pancakes for breakfast, and now I need to do something with my day.

Shower and then bread-making, I think. I've stopped buying bread mostly; instead I make a couple of loaves of oatmeal bread, slice them and stick them in the freezer. So I have bread when I need it, and I know exactly what's in it.

Then maybe the last episode of The Roosevelts, and vacuuming.

That's a plan.

I hope everyone has a more interesting day than me...

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My electric kettle has been a revelation. My ex-aunt-in-law gave me some really nice tea because she didn't know what else to get me and she's a flight attendant who flies the China route. Then I got a teapot. Then the kettle. Now I have a tea habit that would be cost prohibitive if I didn't prefer weaker tea. I really love my electric kettle.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Interesting days are sometimes overrated. Sometimes you need a day to just do mundane, non-taxing stuff, and stare at the wall. Or out a window. Or at the tv.

Coherency improving. I think.

I don't have the tea habit some b.org folk have, but a former student introduced me to the joys of good oolong tea a couple of years ago and that's been my go-to tea ever since.
