Timelies, all! I'm getting ready to go to a 2-year old's birthday party. While I'm not the most child-focused woman ever, I'm very fond of this particular kid. I've even babysat for her on occasion, something I haven't done for anyone else outside the family since high school. The sitting has mostly involved dancing around to the Clash and reading books, so, good times. I'm a little less sanguine about hanging out with the other children and their parents, as I don't know them and they're probably not nearly as cool as the birthday girl. But there will be cake.

Good morning!
It's super gloomy around here, which is perfect really. Lots to do that 'outside' excuses cannot put asunder.
Actually, in the midst of grief and overwhelm about something else, I got some fun news about a project I'm pretty proud of.
Now that the weight on my heart is easing, it may just be time to get that underway.
Stay tuned. I will need clicky help.
In the meanwhile, I'm wrapping the entire board in an appreciative, warm hug (or energy for those who prefer) on this day of at least some rest.
Pretty sure I have a sinus infection. My poor little face is swollen. Well, not swollen like stung-like-a-bee-oh-god-anaphylaxis; just very, very puffy. I mean, I'm fat, but my face doesn't normally look like this. Also, my entire sinus cavity hurts, from my eye sockets all the way down to my teeth. All my teeth. And it's been like this all week, and getting slightly worse each day.
I've been trying to cast it out with OTC stuff (mucinex, ibuprofen, the good sudafed) and a neti pot, but it's fairly stubborn. I don't know if my doctor is even open tomorrow b/c of the MLK holiday, so I might go to urgent care. Except that seems excessive for a sinus infection. OTOH, I could start drugs sooner if I go today.
This has been your Oh God My Sinuses whine for the day.
I am awake, it I might not stay that way
The lack of food in my house is going to force me out of my house at least briefly, but then I plan on going back to bed.
If you really suspect a sinus infection, go. Actually if your doctor won't be open tomorrow, might as well go to urgent care today. You'll feel better sooner.
I hate sinus stuff.
I was just trying to avoid antibiotics if possible, but yeah, puffy face is slightly alarming. And I'm not sure if my doctor will be open tomorrow, so I could wait, but OTOH, I have puffy face. And I kind of love the people at Urgent Care. For real. They actually provide excellent care.
I would definitely go, Steph. That is what UC is for
Go to the doc! Suffering is not virtuous! Thumb your nose at any Puritanical ancestry you may or may not possess!
I'm here. And sobererer than I was last night. Need to get clothes on and go to the grocery store; in a little while, Nora and maybe a couple of other folks are coming over to beglitter purses as throws for the Nyx parade.
Jesse, have fun in TX! Jealous of your hang time with msbelle and DJ.
I get wanting to avoid antibiotics. I woke up hurting so bad on New Years Day that I just wanted to sleep for two weeks. But since my entire office had been sick and I have allergies and asthma, I was pre-treating like a mofo. I managed to avoid a secondary bacterial infection though the bronchitis was less than fun. But I'm the only one in the office who did. Probably because due to the severe allergies and annoying asthma, I had most of the stuff a doctor would have given me already. A sinus infection would have me hitting urgent care fast. They suck.
