I'm sorry. You were going to ask me to choose, right? Did you want to finish?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Meara - one benefit of summer vacation and me working from home - I can get CJ to bring me lunch. I still end up eating/working but at least I'm not hungry.

Punishingly Intricate

Oh, that's rough, Suzi.

That's a vendor that I'm firing later this year (we are not renewing a contract for software. And yes, they know

They are also the company that was fired from the project I'm on last year. I thought their business model was taking government money and either notdoing the work or doing terrible work and asking for additional money to fix their screwups. I didn't realize it was private industry they were doing this to as well.

And what they are doing to their employees is just appalling, sara.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Lisa, my deepest condolences to you and Bob.

Sara, I will be happy to smite the lot of them tomorrow. That's bullshit, plain and simple. I'm sorry you're getting screwed.

sarameg - Jul 08, 2014 11:03:23 am PDT #1569 of 30000

Legacy accruals we won't lose until we used them up, ( of course that burns first) but after that, the accrual zeros at the beginning of every year. And they're trying to impose mandatory vacation days- specific ones regardless of site schedules. Compared with our sites 5 wks/ yr, some insane cap of 3 or 4 months..

There is talk of insurrection to get a buyout.

sarameg - Jul 08, 2014 11:05:01 am PDT #1570 of 30000

Again, not uncommon in the industry, but diverging drastically from our main contract.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, Lisa.

Sarameg, that sucks. I worked for a lousy company that held my organization's contract a while ago. We managed to get our organization bought out by another, better company. I hope you get a similar (or better) resolution soon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh Lisa, I'm sorry.

It sucks but knowing how passionate he is about wanting to help people and do what he can to prevent such tragic endings helps.

Yeah. Someone has to be there for those people

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm so sorry, Lisah.

That's sucks Sara. I hope some form of insurrection works.

There's a great line from the Canadian cop show Flashpoint: "We are catching people in the worst moments of their lives. The very worst moment. Now, what do they got if they don't have us?"

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry, Lisa.

Woke up at ~2:30 am for no apparent reason. Did fall back to sleep quickly, but what the hell?
