Yeah. The niche software we use to publish our transmissions to FDA was created by another (small) company who did a great job back in the day (mid-2000s). They got bought out by CSC years ago and nearly all of the stellar employees have left because they couldn't stand the parent corporation. So the software is buggy as always but the support now is nil. So we are switching to another vendor. I am not surprised they're screwing you over and I really hope there's some workaround or possibility of a buy out for you.
I'm simultaneously annoyed that people are implying that I don't know how to do my job while also being annoyed that people actually want me to do work today.
That's horrible sarameg
I am in the same boat, shrift. Although mine came with a side of self-doubt that I hope yours did not.
Our friend who entered hospice care last week passed away last night. Bob was able to spend time with her Sunday night so we're thankful for that. She was a truly lovely lady and a great baker, amongst other things, & she will be deeply missed. She owned a cafe in Chicago until her illness forced her to sell. Swim Cafe, in case any of our Chicago-istas know it. Anyway, thank you all for your kind thoughts.
Jesse, I literally had "I'm Sorry" stuck in my head when I read your post. Still is stuck! Which is not helping me not cry at work.
Oh, lisah, I'm sorry.
(which probably really didn't help you just not cry at work.)
Oh man, Lisa. I am sorry.
I'm sorry to hear that, lisah.
I know I've mentioned that CJ does ride alongs with the fire department, typically with the med team. He came home late Saturday after a shift and didn't want to talk about his last call.
Today he finally shared - it was a response to a 4 year old who had drowned in a local lake. Seven EMTs worked on the kid in the back of the ambulance while CJ helped the driver navigate to the hospital. He had been in the lake for 30 minutes before he was found and was declared dead at the hospital.
My heart breaks for the family. And for my kid, having to witness that. But knowing he wants to go into emergency services, this is just the first. It sucks but knowing how passionate he is about wanting to help people and do what he can to prevent such tragic endings helps.
