Coming from Summit New Jersey, what's the best/easiest way to get over to Nassau County? My dad's mom died and I told him I'd hop over tomorrow to meet him for dinner. And then, since it's still a work day, what's the best time to head back and not get caught in rush hour?

Timelies all!
Heading to GAfilk tomorrow evening. Need to pack.
Why can't you hippie freaks have your seasons at the same time as the rest of us?
We have our seasons at the same time, we just don't feel the need to have them so HARD.
I'd take 278, Juliebird. But I am not a NJ-NYC commuting expert.
I have no weather complaints. It was a bit brisk this morning (60s). But apparently our cold snap is already done. My niece in Oswego NY tells me that they are closing the thruway near there for lake effect snow.
Oh, hush.
Chicago in the spring is nice, from my brief acquaintance with it.
It was probably Chicago's brief acquaintance with it as well.
I'm so mightily grateful for my working heater, it ain't even funny.
Storm windows are all down, but this 1890s building still sports a draft here and there.
I'm enjoying looking at the pretty patterns the frost makes on the storm windows...from the inside!
Put bubble wrap over the windows. We used that stretchy plastic stuff to insulate the windows in Otter Lake and it made a big difference. If I had actual cold to deal with I would go with bubble wrap!
There's not really much I can do with the windows in my kitchen. They cover an entire wall, starting about a foot off the floor and going up to the ten-foot ceiling, and my table and a rolling cabinet thing are in front of them, so I can't install plastic or anything on them too easily. On the windows in my living room, I've got the plastic stuff plus insulated curtains, and I'm going to install the plastic on the last living room window and the bedroom and bathroom windows tomorrow.
