My one trip to Chicago in the summer was in July and it was incredibly hot and humid.
When we went to SF a couple summers ago (in August), it was super cool and damp (which we'd packed for) but then when we drove up to Santa Rosa, I had to buy new shoes because all I had were boots and it was quite warm and sunny. Gorgeous weather!
right now, a temperature where all I need as outerwear is a sweatshirt sounds great.
Beckons invitingly to Steph from San Diego, where temps have been in the 70s this week. Brandishes Peanut Butter Bacon Burger from Corvette Diner to make it even more attractive...
Weird cognitive dissonance knowing how cold it is everywhere else in the country.
Why can't you hippie freaks have your seasons at the same time as the rest of us?
OMG Jessica you made me laugh!
Okay I really need to buckle down and get to work. Which may call for coffee STAT!
Why can't you hippie freaks have your seasons at the same time as the rest of us?
Hahaha!
The sky outside my window is really gorgeous right now, but in a subtle way that I bet wouldn't show on a phone picture.
We've put down the blinds to try to warm up the office, so now it is freezing and DARK.
I would be so disconcerted to live in a place without seasons. Or in a place with Wrong Seasons (like Australia. Summer in December? NOOOOO!)
Oh, god, hot flashes. In a room where the heaters are running becuse it's January even with the sun beating in.
Or in a place with Wrong Seasons (like Australia. Summer in December? NOOOOO!)
Yes! As immortalised in this song: [link] We hit 40 degrees last week, 104 to the Fahrenheiters. (Today it's a rainy 19 degrees.) Of course, having lived here nearly all my life, I can say quite confidently that you're the ones with the wrong seasons. As evidence, let me note that the lowest Melbourne temperature on record, ever, is -3. And almost all of Australia is further north than us.
For you north is closer to the equator, right? so in addition to having the wrong seasons, your directions are upside-down.
SF weather, I can't deal with. Why can't you hippie freaks have your seasons at the same time as the rest of us?
Hey man, quit trying to make us follow your "rules". Ya just gotta, like, relax and take the weather as it comes, man. It's all good.
Having grown up in California, I am quite content with the loss of a season or two (notably winter) as long as it means comfortable temperatures most of the year.
