A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

We have a high of 10 degrees today, and I am home with the office crud. No one has figured out if it's a cold or a weird strain of flu. Either way, it's cut a swath through my department and I am the latest to fall.

Also worried about ita.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh! Speaking of weather, I might be getting screwed out of my Caribbean work trip next month! Or I might get to bust my ass and take on a higher-level thing there at the same time. One or the other, tbd next week.

Heh. My boss is organizing a 1-day trip to Chicago for all the freelancers, and she emailed everyone to find out what dates were not good. Everyone has replied to all and said "PLEASE pick a warmer month!" Apparently last year the trip was in January and was ridonkulously cold. I might stab someone if I have to take a trip in this weather to an even COLDER place.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am kinda rocking today. I've done the thing requested by my boss, checked invoice queue, check reconciliations, and have started report for tomorrow.

Also contacted potential tutors for Mac, updated contribution amount for my 401k, and sent out an group email I needed to get before Sat.

I still want to get to the trip planning, but all this other personal stuff is more pressing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Speaking of Chicago, the windchill advisory ended 47 minutes ago. And it is now snowing like a MoFo.

Stay warm, all you folks!

And I hope ita is blissfully asleep without pain...

Chicago in the spring could be pleasant.

I was there one year in late June and foolishly didn't pack anything with long sleeves. I came home with a new sweatshirt. But still, right now, a temperature where all I need as outerwear is a sweatshirt sounds great.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Chicago in the spring is nice, from my brief acquaintance with it.

I hope ita is asleep and pain-free.

askye, may your medical and doctor problems be solved quickly. You've had to deal with this mess for far too long already. This Dr. C seems utterly unhelpful.

It is 19 degrees here now. I'm staying inside in my warm fluffy robe until it gets to at least 35. Frozen water on the inside of windows? Oh hell naw. I would go mad and caulk everything up with plastic and foam.
