Yeah, it's not that bad here, either (currently showing 0). I mean, I was wearing my WONDERFUL DOWN COAT *and* my Norwegian sweater, but I was totally fine waiting for the bus for 10 minutes with just fleece gloves.
It's still unusually cold in my office, though.
HPF overdid it a little with ski goggles this morning, plus hat, coat, muffler, etc. It's only 10deg and she's got very few steps total outside.
T started whistling "A man they called Jayne." I think he is WRONG. Warmth can't be quantified, or ridiculed.
My Peruvian colleague is a little stunned, although she's been here for years! We apparently have one degree currently.
My fingers didn't want to work, even wearing gloves, when I was trying to pull out the access card to get in the parking garage this morning. An under- 10 minute drive does not warm up my car in these temps. Whopping 8 at the moment.
And I need to go out and pick up groceries at some point today. Don't really want to, but out of cream, kinda a dealbreaker.
Also? My window is raining, I'm wearing 2 pairs of socks, leggings under jeans, long sleeved shirt and a sweater… and I just draped my coat over my lap and scarf over my shoulders.
Should have stayed home again.
I got a call reminding me of my dentist appointment next week (I actually made the appointment Tuesday so I don't know why I'm getting a week early call) and the receptionist said one of their employees said at their house this morning it was -25. ACtual temperture not "feels like".
It's -6 here currently. It's supposed to jump all the way to 17F today.
I really hope my car doors aren't frozen shut.
I do wish I had brought foot warmers with me this morning -- Santa put some in my stocking! At least my office is warmer than it was earlier this week, and I don't think that's just the two sweaters I am wearing.
I have an old friend from high school who moved from LA to Chicago in November (with her 3 LA-born kids.) It's -24 there this morning. They are all like, WHUT.
