"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

LOVE that play. Though I've only seen a college production of it.

Did you know you can buy the PBS production with Swoozie Kurtz and Meryl Streep?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I went into the office yesterday so that I don't need to feel any compulsion to attempt it the rest of the week.

Good call. I think I'm going to work from home on Wednesday but attempt the office on Thursday, only because I'm volunteering part of the day for a Stop Hunger Now event and I don't want to leave people hanging.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Haircut accomplished, and supercute if I do say so myself. It's the same cut I've been getting, and it barely even grew out since last time so it looks hardly different. But enough. We're going to try pushing out my next haircut so it will be less time before my Amsterdam-Eclipse-Iceland trip with Lee. I can't believe how soon that will be! So not ready! No time to freak out about that today, will have to do that later.

Now for dinner and then I will find out if I can work while watching Downton Abbey. I can work while eating lunch at the office, but dinner is salmon so I have to fend off the cat, and that is too many tasks for me to multi.

My stylist chortles with glee while she's cutting, even if it didn't suit me so well I don't know that I'd change it. But it does, so I will probably have this cut until she wants to do something different.

my Amsterdam-Eclipse-Iceland trip with Lee

Find a tree or something that cuts the light into leetle pieces en mass (like if you've got trees with leaves.) Other than the weirdlight shadows of eclipses and seeing the stars come out on a sky of a color you never see but for eclipse... One of my favorite bits. A gazillion mini eclipsed Suns on your skin.

Ok, the whole thing is my favorite part.

And I just got a pang, because there is a 2017 US eclipse that will cross my late uncle's childhood farm. We were planning to make it a family reunion. :/

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You guys, look at this email I got from my new boss.

And I very much appreciate all that you are doing the lead / coach this team. I can really tell by the way Brian and Chris conduct themselves, that you had a lot of influence over that. There’s a lot of integrity there, and it’s evident.

Being a good manager and mentor is really important to me, and this has me a little verklempt.

That's awesome! Good job, brenda!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I have Neti Potted and don't actually feel any better, but I guess it will help in the long run? I'd never done it before; too many unpleasant memories of sniffing salt water up my nose as a kid (my mom's home remedy for stuffy noses). But this wasn't as bad as I had feared. So that's something.

I also have antibiotics and am about to take more Tylenol and crawl into bed. God, I really hope this pain has diminished by tomorrow morning. This is no fun.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hi folks, didn't mean to be MIA just having a hard time making time for the computer. So not my usual MO but something about taking care of the kids these days leaves me little time for anything else. On the plus side, the kids seem to thrive when I bust my ass for them.

Many thoughts for you, Amy, I hope things work themselves out soon.

And the same for you, ita. I wish I could help.
