K-Bug and I took the dojo littles (3 and 6) to the Children's Museum oof Denver. I didn't preload on anti-anxiety meds or bring any ibuprofen.
It isn't even the mob of kids but the parents. OMG people. Backup and let them play.
They have a neat kinetic ball area with pneumatic tube and stuff. All the balls end up in a thing that drops them all back on the floor at regular intervals. Unless your kid is a toddler, stay out of the ball drop area and let the kids collect their own.
Timelies all!
Quiet weekend coming up here. We'll try to go to the movies tomorrow night.
My body decided to start the year off with a head cold. I question its decision-making skills.
I told my mother I'd make a batch of cupcakes for her party on Saturday, but just realized I don't have buttermilk or vanilla. So maybe tomorrow. Today I chopped a lot of vegetables, made tortellini skewers, and a torta. Tomorrow I think it's a lot of sandwiches and I forget what else.
Oh, just remembered about the way to fake buttermilk. I'm sure my mother has vanilla. I guess it could be cupcakes tonight.
You can fake buttermilk with one cup of whole milk and one tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice. (actually, best way is to put the vinegar in the measuring cup, then add the milk to one cup)
Forgot to add - let it sit for at least five minutes. It's better if the milk is room temp.
That's what I remembered! Still not baking....
I was alone at the office today so I moved a bunch of furniture around and cleaned and organized. Now I am sore all over. Other than the lack of coworkers it seemed like a Monday, except with bonus weekend follow-up. Woo!
I am making lemon tarts for a baby shower tomorrow. I am using mini tart pans for the first time, and the tart shells are rather...irregular in shape. I don't know if perfectionist me is going to demand a redo of them, but that will wait until tomorrow. As it is, I still don't have a gift for the shower.
(please note, I am totally okay. Really and truly.)
I was supposed to go to work today, but this happened instead
