I am doing a very boring training, that is due by Friday--there was a "pretest" and I got 11/12, but still have to sit through the training. BOO!
Yay for Buffista get togethers and pictures!
I went to bed about 7PM last night (but I'd been up since 2AM), and thought maybe I'd get up early and get stuff done. Instead, woke with a headache and got up around the usual time. Did manage to go buy food for tonight at Trader Joe's prior to any madness there. Hoping i don't have lots of leftovers, though.
In theory we get let go two hours early today. In reality, I'm leaving at about 12:30 because I have an eye appointment. :)
Rare day off. Mac and I are have a day at the dollar movies. Just saw Book of Life.
Oh! Random question for the buffistas: So, my sister and BIL have a 3 year old (foster kid who may be eligible for adoption soon). And sister's BFF and I were in the car with sister and kiddo, and singing...and sang "Shake your booty" and my sister informed us that she does not want to use the word "booty" around the kiddo and it is not appropriate language. We were flabbergasted--obviously not trying to use actual foul language, but we didn't think of that as inappropriate, and both thought of it as a kid-friendly term for butt, but my sister thought the word has been overly sexualized and is not ok anymore. Thoughts? (I mean, obviously I'll do whatever she wants, when around her, but...just curious)
Alcide just walked past me. Real life is a good look on him. shame about the busted arm, though.
Timelies all!
I'm so sorry, Strix.
Even though I didn't get official word, I left work 2 hours early. Didn't have anything to do.
Theo, glad you're feeling a lot better. Um, tomorrow, feel better still!
Preeeety Buffistas!!
Strix, I'm so sorry about your Greer kitty.
Do I want lunch? Breakfast was late, and dinner will be early, so I'm thinking no.
I just texted my boss. Told him I was really tired, so he's letting me leave.
He didn't say anything about Sue, though :(
We're actually busy with the rest of the world getting their end-of-year stuff done, so leaving early is unlikely.
shrift, the roasted beet pesto is really simple. Roast some beets in the oven, peel them, and chop them up. Throw them in a blender with olive oil, walnuts or pine nuts, and some parmesan. Use it on your pasta and watch the pasta turn a marvelous shade of fuchsia.
Sweet, thanks! I think I need to try that this weekend. I've already got spaghetti squash to roast and ingredients for spicy tomato & farro soup. I'm loading up on the vegetarian dishes.
