So I bought some Gjetost cheese (brown cheese made of goat and cow milk whey), cut up and peeled a very ripe pear, put thin slices of the cheese on top and baked the whole thing at 350 until the cheese melted over the hot pear.
Oh nom! Which reminds me I need to go by the office tomorrow. The PM who sent me pears last year said she sent something to the office for me.
Strix, that is so rough. RIP sweet kitty.
I went out in the sub zero temps wearing just my gi...the walk to and from my car sucked, but it was great to get some karate time in.
Calli, pears + Gjetost cheese sounds delish.
Strix, I'm sorry about your kitty.
Consuela, I'm glad that TNG is doing okay, and I'm interested in that roasted beet pesto.
Suzi, I'm glad you got some karate in.
I managed to reset my Kindle tonight and it will power on now, so I don't need to buy a new one immediately. I do have a Paperwhite on my Wishlist as a precautionary measure, though.
strix, that's so typical for cats, instinctually going off to be sick in private. They mean well, even if it's hard on their humans.
I'm feeling much better this morning, like up to 80% of capacity. Yay?
Strix, I'm so sorry about your cat.
Stumbled over and let the dogs out and fed all the beasties. Will have to drop cookies by on my way to the pool in...an hour. Holiday hours, Uhg. Hoping the coffee kicks in.
Ugh. I'm almost too depressed to be at work today. Hopefully caffeine will help and hopefully I can leave early.
But overall, I'm pretty sure I can manage until the new pills kick in.
You can make it, tommyrot.
shrift, the roasted beet pesto is really simple. Roast some beets in the oven, peel them, and chop them up. Throw them in a blender with olive oil, walnuts or pine nuts, and some parmesan. Use it on your pasta and watch the pasta turn a marvelous shade of fuchsia. It also freezes really well.
Knowing that depression is only temporary is half the battle, in my experience. But sometimes you can't imagine that can happen, so you have to tell your imagination to STFU.
