'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

strix, that's so typical for cats, instinctually going off to be sick in private. They mean well, even if it's hard on their humans.

I'm feeling much better this morning, like up to 80% of capacity. Yay?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Strix, I'm so sorry about your cat.

Stumbled over and let the dogs out and fed all the beasties. Will have to drop cookies by on my way to the pool in...an hour. Holiday hours, Uhg. Hoping the coffee kicks in.

Ugh. I'm almost too depressed to be at work today. Hopefully caffeine will help and hopefully I can leave early.

But overall, I'm pretty sure I can manage until the new pills kick in.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hang in there, tommyrot.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

You can make it, tommyrot.

shrift, the roasted beet pesto is really simple. Roast some beets in the oven, peel them, and chop them up. Throw them in a blender with olive oil, walnuts or pine nuts, and some parmesan. Use it on your pasta and watch the pasta turn a marvelous shade of fuchsia. It also freezes really well.

Knowing that depression is only temporary is half the battle, in my experience. But sometimes you can't imagine that can happen, so you have to tell your imagination to STFU.

Thanks, guys.

Today's music has helped. So far, The Raveonettes, The Dum Dum Girls and The Polyphonic Spree (their excellent cover of "Lithium".)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

If a group of Buffistas meets in a bistro, but nobody posts a picture until the next day (and the picture is missing Tom Scola who had to go back to work), did it really happen?

(Yes, yes it did, and I have proof. Dylan took the picture.)
