I am pretty well doing the job already, I'll just be getting paid a little (and I do mean little) more.
Better than a kick in the pants, I guess.
I am really hoping my new boots get delivered before I leave, but I think it's a slim chance.

Here I am. At work. Ho hum.
Okay, so my boss just called me from home and they are indeed offering me the job and a VERY small raise--one step on the pay scale. So I have emailed my boss to say I'd like to try to negotiate another step on the pay grade schedule.
Still sick, but somewhat less so. Not well enough to go out Ubering, anyway.
Go you, Sue!
Good luck, Sue!
Take care of yourself, Theo
sarameg, this is what we have in stainless steel [link] let me know if I can shop for you at the employee sale
We officially survived the holidays! Despite Franny popping a fever at the last minute, and my failing to secure several intended gifts that now need to be bought after Xmas.
Oh Connie! I need to send you an email. I'm in your neck of the woods and we are all being slow pokes, so I should have time to meet up for a coffee or a walk or whatever.
I'm at work! My floor is very sparsely populated. The only reason I'm working today and tomorrow are so I can pick up some stuff from the mail room, clear my inbox a little, use the treadmills, and pick up a gift card.
I spent 10 days in the land of no internet and just got back last night. My old Kindle 3G refused to turn on after only a day or two, so I had no fic to read and a limited selection of books and comics that I'd downloaded to my new tablet. Now I have to do research on devices, because I like having one ereader that doesn't have a backlight.
Do y'all like the Paperwhite?

I got your email and responded. Today's weather is horrid, so I don't plan to do anything today except crawl home very carefully, always assuming I don't spin out just getting out of my damned work driveway. The downside of having a stunning view across the valley is having multiple steep switchbacks to get up to the view. And of course a building that's half-empty is low on the road/parking lot maintenance totem pole.
I barely made it up the last slope into work, it was that slushly. To say nothing of the four-lane viaduct that was covered in slush. I'm getting pretty good at the not panicking as my car loses traction in traffic. Now the rest of the idiots need to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!
Shrift, I do really like my paper white. I didn't think I would (I rarely felt the need for a book light with my old kindle) but it's been nice. Though between family and Internet, I haven't read ANY books this vacation!! Though lots of Yuletide.
Fingers crossed for you, Sue!!
I am irked because somehow while visiting, I've either gotten a spider bite, Lyme disease, or ringworm...on the back of my neck. Wtf?? Makes it very hard to see changes and/or apply medication (we are working on a hypothesis of ringworm). In any case....ew.
