Timelies everyone!
I spent most of today waiting at a walk-in clinic because of horrible chest pain to find out it's a viral inflammation thing and I get to just ride it out. Exciting!
I had a random question though - have any of you American buffistas ever flown into Canada with a one-way ticket? I'm visiting Vancouver later in January and I'm not sure how long I'm staying, so I was planning on purchasing my return ticket while I was already there, once I had it figured out. Wondering if that'd be an issue with border patrol people?
my new main squeeze, polka dots.
Polka dots are the shiznit!
Or at least that's what I heard Snoop-Dog say when he was a guest judge on Project Runway.
(Just in my dreams.)
As far as the Yoga goes - I've started doing breathing exercises - good for my asthma and maybe for my sleep. I also have hand and arm stretches bookmarked and some sitting leg exercises - all stretchy stuff. I want to do more yoga - so I have found things I can do in the middle of work. Those are my baby steps that I started in october. and they are so Not habits yet. However doing any of these things feels good, for a little bit.
Habit forming is interesting. A whole bunch of the flylady stuff came easy ( morning and eve routines - and I can do anything for 15 min) but other stuff ( decluttering for 15 min-ha ) not so easy . ( and shoes is just silly ) .a
I'm trying to think of ways to not compare yourself to others. in small steps. Scolding yourself sounds backwards. Maybe looking at the things that would have to change in your current life to be in that place. ( DH some times talks about he could have done X and be at A - my answer is always - it is possible we might never have gotten married) But I have no idea
the one thing I would seriously like to change is some of the mindless eating/drinking I do. thinking about it
I had a lovely evening drinking with several of my sister's friends (I'd met all of them before, some I know quite well). Now I am sleepy and it is late. But I didn't realize my phone charger was at her house until after I changed into pajamas. Dang. (I'm staying across the street at her neighbors' house while they're gone).
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! And a very happy birthday to my birthday twins, Jesse and Theo!
Zuisa, I would expect them to have some issues with that.
Thank you for the link, quester!
I also try to avoid resolutions, but I like the idea of setting goal. The thing I find most irksome about New Year's resolutions is that the gym becomes extra crowded in January and February.
Timelies all!
Have eaten far too much food here. Hazard of visiting my parents.
Hope the viral thing gets better, zuisa. I have limited experience flying anywhere on one-way tickets, but it seems to add annoyances even domestically.
Anne, I was resigning myself to being one of those people who suddenly shows up at the gym in January after months of not being there, but then I discovered that I have not, in fact, registered for that triathlon in April so I can pick up swimming again later and do my New Year running at an outdoor track (or in my neighborhood, but I am excited to know where a track is for more precise mileage/not having to wait for traffic). So when I do creep back to the gym it won't be with a huge crowd of other people doing the same thing, maybe.
Trying to get moving. Been lazing around and reading all morning. There are quantities of family arriving this afternoon and stuff needs to be done.
Also, my phone decided to expire. It is old, but it gave no warning. Just died. I might see if a new battery does the trick although it had been holding a charge well enough. Bother.
