I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Theodosia and Rayne!

I had an incredible amount of roast beast last night and am still sort of full. Although I did have scones and presents for breakfast!

They pay me in WOIMS

I am the only person in the entire world at work today.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I am the only person in the entire world at work today.

I might be the only person in Highland Park at work today. Wait, there were people at McDonalds working when I bought my Egg McMuffin.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I am the only person in my entire house at work today. The other person has the next week off.

Here's a new children's book: The Kegel Bear

32-page, full-color, hardcover book. A charmingly funny story about a bear who loves to hug her friends. For moms, it's a subtle reminder to do their Kegel exercises. When the Kegel Bear hugs her friends, everybody squeeze!

Our wings are not tired.

waves to Tom Yes, I am at the office today. It was voluntarily since I told everyone else to take the day off. It is nice and quiet. The phone has not rung even once. The idea was to get stuff done, but I have been mostly goofing off. Also, DH is sick and avoiding his germs and bad moodiness seemed a good plan.

I have the dog with me. They are testing the fire alarm system in the building today and a dude came by to give me fair warning. He was concerned about the dog's ears so he turned down the volume on the 2 horns in our office. (I have heard it before and there is no missing that noise) That was really sweet of him to do. He said it will only go off once.

My SIL is working too.

Startled the old dog last night and got a nip for my carelessness ( she can't see or hear well and gets edgy around food, which she can still smell. And of course the whole house smelled of food, so...) Bruising is the worst of it, but thus ends my streak of being the only adult never nipped by her.

There were nerf gun battles (who knew my mom was such a good shot?) and booze and that dumb as shit movie that pissed off NK last night. Good times.

And a lot of asparagus. I can still smell it on me, ack.

Happy birthdays, Theo & Jesse & Rayne!
