"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

If he doesn't have stomach cramps and isn't spending most of his time in the bathroom, it's not food poisoning. I wish I had realized this was the flu early enough to get Tamiflu. Let me be a coughing and wheezing example.

I called the infusion center and confirmed that they don't want me there with the flu. I am better today. I'm going back to bed for a while, and then I'll decide if I need to head to urgent care.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yay, GInger!

I agree with the doctor for Mr. Flea.

Despite a lot of pain yesterday, I have found two positions that don't aggravate it, so I'm only fighting insomnia, not pain, when I try and sleep.

Don't know if I can maintain that position on multiple airplanes, but the idea that the pain can not only surge but recede is new. I guess the epidural is late in coming through.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

He has the fucking flu. If you WONDER if it's food poisoning, it generally isn't. You KNOW. And want to die, now.

Calli, sorry about the job. :(

So I get Micah AND MARIA tomorrow!!! I'm so excited! Because of the house-selling, the house is actually in pretty good shape for the holidays.

Today will be glass recycling, then taking not one, but TWO sets of old encyclopedias to Half-Price Books (I don't care if we get $1 for 'em, I want them out of the house and I want that pace on my bookshelves -- and anyway, we've got to get a couple of gifts at Half-Price anyway.)

Some more shopping and gift-wrapping. Laundry. Mopping. I may do some crafting. Work on website a little, write a little. Go for a walk (I see a little sunshine!)

Oh, and CLEAN THE EFFING CAR before we are stuck in it for hours. I can't even.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Well, I got the car's state inspection taken care of and did some grocery shopping. I applied for another job and put a load of laundry in the washer. Aside from the rest of the laundry, my onerous tasks are pretty much done for today. Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge so my cat sitters wouldn't get a face full of stink every time they went for Leifur's hair ball meds. It's still a little wiff today, so I put some fresh ground coffee in it. I'm hoping that'll clear things up.

am home, and trying to persuade him to go to urgent care and get tested, and Tamiflu'd if necessary. He still thinks it is not flu.

Get the tamiflu, what can it hurt?? Oh Mr Flea, don't be a sillyhead.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Just sang carols at two nursing homes (my father's + a friend's), which was nice, but now I just want to sit around, and I should probably do other things today! If nothing else, replace at least one of the non-working strings of lights on the front of the house.

Our wings are not tired.

Taking a food break from my pruning adventures. Trying to clean up the flower beds prior to feeding them. Took some branches off the fruit trees too. The grapefruit tree has thorns as long as my fingers! Most impressive.

Ugh. So, I ordered a shirt from teeFury back in November. On 12/1 they said it shipped but it never showed up. 12/9 I put in a customer service request asking where it is. 12/15 they finally say oh, sorry, we didn't mean to tell you it shipped, we just got the shirts and are sending now. They actually shipped 12/17. So it won't get here until after I'm gone for the holidays.

So I go on amazon once that's clear. Order for prime delivery on Tuesday night, which means it should arrive Friday. It did not. So I look today and it now says it won't be here until Monday. Yup. After I'm gone. So I call Amazon, and the dude is like "I looked at your order--I talked to the shipper--we can guarantee it will arrive Monday!" Dude. I don't care what you guarantee at this point, it's too late!!! Ugh. They now claim they can't reroute it but if I order today to be shipped to my sister it will get there Tuesday! Dude. Seriously? I ordered Tuesday night and it won't be here until Monday, but if I order Saturday it will be there Tuesday???

That's ridiculous, meara.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

I'd bet folding money on Tuesday being when they would tell you it hasn't shipped yet, but will be at your sister's by New Year's.
