Update: www.ita.com is blocked as malware by my work. Hmmmm...

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It says they're ITA Audiovisual Solutions, over on Dana Ave. They didn't seem to be a porn purveyor, although I didn't click past the home page. Maybe it's a front for porn. After all, porn IS audiovisual.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I saw a truck advertising www.ita.com parked outside my work an hour ago

I wasn't going there, even before you mentioned the malware thing.

Darkest timeline!

I have a Nexus 9, shrift, and I'm sure you know how damned pretty those things are. Not as useful as my Samsungs, but well engineered for sure.

Strix, I am EE-ta. Pronounced the Spanish way, for easiest memory--senorita minus senor.

think all but the most complex cases are treated laparoscopically, and it's outpatient surgery now

Oh, that's perfect. I could remember how involved your case was, because if I get this job I'm an hourly employee with a) no health insurance through the job, although my "platinum" pick is cheaper and just as good as what I had through the last job and b) no paid time off, at ALL.

You are, and I don't lie, my inspiration and hope in this regard.

I don't know what they recommend for time off work these days, with the laparoscopic dealie; since I could edit from home, I took a week off work, and then worked about 20 hours at home the second week, and was back to full time the 3rd week (possibly half at work, half at home, but I disremember). I feel like with laparoscopic surgery you could be back sooner.

I know at least 3 (maybe 4) other people who had the same surgery I did, and they're also doing great. It's freaky (to me) because it was so invasive, but it also did exactly what it was supposed to do. Although, I won't lie, the 6 weeks of PT after recovery was important, too.

Aieeee! I hate PT. Only one (in quite a few tries) PT was useful, and he's a) an asshole b) moved away.

But I can behave, if it fights the pain. Better than my other options.

For me specifically, the PT was to strengthen the back muscles and the abs, so that the abs would do their part and take some of the stress off the back. AND my left quad muscles were fucked because that was the leg that had the sciatica and foot numbness, so I favored it and the muscles really were visibly atrophied compared to my right leg (aka, the shining star).

It wasn't for pain, because all my pain was caused by the disc material actually impinging on the sciatic nerve; when the disc material was removed during the surgery, that removed the cause of the pain. Literally when I woke up in recovery, all the pain was gone, and it wasn't because of painkillers.

Yours is in your neck, right? I'm not sure what PT would be recommended for that.

This is bringing me to tears.

If they could work out a way for me to kettlebell out of it...I'd be a happy camper. And supply the kettlebell.

Outside shoes gave me a blister and Sephora and Lush gave me a headache.

meara - Dec 18, 2014 9:45:46 am PST #12955 of 30000

I've been worrying the shit out of my mother, apparently, because I'm not talking to her enough, and she's depressed and not eating.

OK, worried you can't do anything about--she's your mom, she'll probably do that. But depressed and not eating?? That's so not on you. She's an adult.

Just booked two ridiculously complex travel weeks. I wish I'd been able to get them to all be TOGETHER, instead of going SEA-LAX-TUC-SEA and then a few days later SEA-LAX-SMF-PHX-SEA. Ugh!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I tutored, which was mostly sitting / standing in the back of the class and looking alertly at the students when the teacher's back was turned. Evidently my gaze is somewhat searing.
