Ah, the greatest thing just happened: My boss came in to my office and said to me, "You have to cross the river! You'd better go! They are closing the bridges!" All dramatic like it was the apocalypse, and not just road closings for the rescheduled fireworks. And actually, the bridge I cross is not closing and I'll be on foot, so overall: No problem. Hee.

Timelies all!
I'm sorry about your friend, Lisa.
They let us go home two hours early today.(Considering that I had pretty much nothing to do, this was welcome.)
So sorry about your friend, lisah.
Glad it went well, Sue!
Glad you are beating the bridge closings in multiple ways, Jesse!
Short day for me today, so it's W-E-E-K-E-N-D already. I think I need to do something to convince myself of that.

Yes! "BOSS I MUST FLEE THE OFFICE NOW. NOW!!!"
I totally talked myself out of leaving early, but now I will go and make my way across the waters.
It's really really dark out and big fat drops keep starting and stopping.
Ok, really starting now...
I was really hoping for storms today, or at least threatening cloud cover. Committed myself and staff to greenhouse work, and we fucking roasted.
But, the greenhouse is pretty once again, and we repotted a whole bunch of orchids and my intern started making a really cool log mount for two staghorn ferns that I bought. And our carnivorous plant collection is growing and becoming quite pretty. The sundew is already dotted with gnats (this one is called Octopus, it has red "tentacles"). Way cool.
Sound neat, Julie!
It's just constantly rumbling out there. Jeez.
