The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

We probably should clip the nails of our three (and Ruthven is totally mellow about it), but we just keep not getting to it. I keep finding claw sheaths on the floor, so I'm not too worried.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It's funny. High-strung jumpy kitty Leo is fine with getting his toenails trimmed, as long as he gets lots of nuzzles and praise during the ordeal, but sweet laid-back Percy loses his dang mind when I even THINK about trimming his claws. Once I realized he was afraid of the big orange cat-claw trimmer and switched to a little people-nailclipper, he was better, but he still can't stand doing more than one paw at a time. Murray the former stray handles his own claw-buffing at the scratching posts; he's the only one who doesn't ever get stuck to the carpets.

Loki and the Pumpkin are pretty compliant. They get a little squirmy towards the end, but not too bad. Devi would get bitey and pissy. MK was all "you're playing with my feet. I love you."

They need doing now. Pumpkin's back and neck massage when I got out of the shower this morning was a little too close to an acupuncture session...

Postage stamp done as well as the leaves out front where 2 cars were parked this weekend. I love that the mint is still hanging on out back-makes raking up the plot pleasantly fragrant. It's chocolate mint to boot.

It's muggy outside, but getting darker and darker due to clouds. Steph, I can pretty much count on getting your weather 24-36 hrs later. Anything that dips out of Canada over the Midwest has tended to follow that pattern pretty faithfully the past couple of years.

Well, tomorrow will be a rude awakening after today. It is so lousy out.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

(I mean, that can be for other people, too, but Dana was who I thought of first...)

Wait, what? You mean I won't have to bog down my DVD queue with all the discs of Friends?!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ooof. I guess I totally needed that 3 hour nap, considering I woke up with insomnia at 4, went out Ubering at 5, and worked steadily until 10.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Man, my cats don't even like for me to pick them up in order to carry them closer to their food. Yes, sometimes they seem to be unable to find the food dish that never ever moves and is newly filled with smelly gooshy food. Cats.

Mmm, chocolate mint. I want to put fragrant herbs in my front yard to fight it out with the grass that I am betting I am allergic to. Will still need mowing, probably, but will smell nice and maybe not make me itch. Some weekend when it is not actively raining the whole time I'll get started on that...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wait, what? You mean I won't have to bog down my DVD queue with all the discs of Friends?!

Apparently not!

I just moved the cat's appointment to Wednesday because it's now freezing rain and sleet and starting to be rush hour and to get to the vet I take the highway past downtown into Kentucky, and I'm just nervous about the weather. I can't take the cat tomorrow because my car will be in the shop all day getting tires.

It's probably okay to wait until Wednesday for an ingrown claw, right? I feel like a jerk, but the weather looks bad.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We had a cat with an ingrown claw. It's uncomfortable/ painful but not life threatening. Not worth risking an accident for, especially if you have any leftover feline pain meds from past vet experiences. (And if you don't have any, call your vet -- at least in VA, vets can call prescriptions in to human pharmacies.)
