First run of cookies. [link]
Will require 3 batches. Thinking about mixing nuts in rather than rolling, which is a PITA. chocolate cookie, pecans, caramel, secret spices and kick.
Left some along with a bottle of good Malbec and a reusable bottle bag for my non-cat-having neighbor who had to deal with my cats while they had the runs while I was away. Suitable apology, I hope. Apparently, she's now thinking about getting a cat, despite last weekend, so there's that. Loki watched football with her. I think that went a long way.
Oh, I think we're going to do a cookie exchange at work. I'd better start thinking. I'm not actually much of one for cookie-making, so I don't have much of a repertoire. Maybe vw's pumpkin chocolate chip?
People seem to go bonkers over peanut butter cookies, and they're easy as hell. Plus you can put a Hershey's kiss in the middle and it's extra festive.
Threat level kitten. Some kids in the complex found a kitty hiding in a bush. They offered her food, which she scarfed. Then they went around knocking on doors to find the owner. No one claimed her and when they knocked on our door, K-Bug ended up going out to get her in a box.
We stopped by the office to see if anyone had reported her as lost. No luck there but she took pictures and sent out a notice to the community. Then we drove to the humane society to get her scanned but she wasn't chipped.
She is hanging out in my bathroom and I'm hoping someone responds to the email. She is friendly, has a collar but no tags. Didn't even fuss when she was in the box. K-Bug is coming up with names and I keep saying no. But she is so sweet.
Those look so good, sarameg!
The Nutella-stuffed brown-butter sea-salt chocolate chip cookies are worth every calorie but kind of a PITA. I was also super fond of the cornflake wreaths we made last year--very old school Midwest. :)
OMG, I love those wreaths! I wonder if anyone else on my team would be likely to bring them.
Sara, your cookies look amazing.
The rolling in nuts is a pain. And I find the cookie part too cakey rather than fudgey. I think if I put in a whole egg (rather than just yolk) and melt in some dark chocolate (currently just cocoa powder) that might do it. Will try tomorrow.
It's odd that I have enough cookie recipes under my belt, despite not being a Cookie Monster, that I know how to tweak them for results. I like making cookies more than I like eating them. If only I could make them consistently pretty.
