Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sure you did great, Burrell.

That sounds really nice, Burrell.

Tea update - TJ's Pumpkin Spice with cream and sugar is even more pumpkin pie like than without. Yum.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

This is Sleepy Hollow-related, but only tangentially so:

Tim texted from camping to say, "Tent is great! No bears, no cliffs."

I texted back, "How do I know this isn't a bear texting me from your phone?"

His reply? "Fist bump."

Aw.

If bears watch Sleepy Hollow we are all in trouble.

So I didn't realize bronies were actually a real thing in the world, until my cousin told me about taking her 6 year old to see the MLP movie, at a matinee, and the theater was full of rowdy men! Come on people -- if you're going to a kids' movie, at least wait until evening.

brillig

The first showing of GofG at 10 AM was nearly 3/4s full. Holiday crowd, I guess. It makes me cry a log (unsurprisingly) but is so much fun I guess I'll have to buy it. I'm looking forward to finding out who Peter Quill's father is. Maybe he'll turn out to be related to Agent of SHIELD's Skye.

I then had miso and chicken teriyaki and gyoza for lunch. Note to self, do not eat a tub of popcorn two hours before Yamato's gigantic lunch combos.

Oh, right, I have GotG extras to watch. I might be able to get to that today...maybe pop some popcorn even...

Long weekends are the best.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OH EM GEE, turkey! Gravy! Cranberry sauce!

I kinda want to eat it all right now...

Thank you Kat. It was lovely to see you and your kids. It's clearly been too long.
