"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Okey dokey, ita. We'll come by this afternoon with treats!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

After 5 hours of Ubering (and 6, count 'em, fares), I came home and took a short nap. I'd have done better if I'd gotten going before 6 like I planned. I blame it on the turkey.

Still better than working at Walmart.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I would like to report that all my recent TJ hot verge impulse buys (Pumpkin spice Tea, Harvest Blend Tea, and Trois Chocolats) are fully justified by their deliciousness.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Salt N Peppa on a Geico commercial? I feel depressed now.

But it makes me laugh so hard!

The status is NOT quo.

If you want a second round of Thanksgiving treats, ita, we also have a ton of leftovers. I could bring them tomorrow.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay for treats!

I have the tree up, with lights strung and tested. The ornaments still need to go on it, but that's the sort of thing where I can add a couple now and again throughout the day. I also have the traditional tree trimming accompanyment of the Lord of the Rings DVDs playing in the background, which makes me happy. They're in the Mines of Moria right now. Poor Gimli.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I am resistant to Hobbit movies. LotR is just close enough to perfection (though RotK edges into OOT CGI for me) that I side-eye even more CGI embroidery for a much slighter story. I can't not go see them, but only once, as opposed to the near-dozen FotR in theater. And Hobbit DVDs are only because of my compulsive completeism.

I don't have the Hobbit DVDs yet. They'll have a box set next year, and I can wait for that. I don't think they're nearly as good as tLotR, but I still like them. They won't become part of my tree trimming tradition unless I get a much larger tree. Still, it's been nice to revisit Middle Earth a bit more.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Can you imagine extended versions of the Hobbit movies?

I like them well enough, but it's not like the first time...

You guys are marvellous. I'm literally just back on solid food (had a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast) after a *lot* of Ensure, and sometimes I'm too wobbly to get myself stocked up.

Kat, in the butter drawer is the turkey on a roll I forgot. *sob*

But I had a big brunch, so I should be ok. I think I have a granola bar somewhere. It might be a little smashed.
