Aw, that's too bad that that your bladder got in the way of the race, meara. I'm glad you did find a bathroom, and 4.5 miles is a long run! And I see from Facebook that another of my friends ran that very race today, too. Neat.

OK, rabbits have enjoyed their carrots and I think I have everything packed that I am supposed to bring to my parents'. I am off.

I am trying to get in a bit more grading before the day's cooking hits. I definitely enjoy the day more when someone else is in charge of the turkey.

I was apologizing to tourists today that Thanksgiving is a lousy day for foreigners to be touring around -- so much is closed! Nothing is running!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm off in about 30 min to drive the folks to Dixie Cafe for our turkey & dressing meal.

Am chowing down on the turkey dinner work brought in for the 6 techs working today. Disappointing turkey, but yummy mashed potatos and stuffing. All the stuff a diabetic shouldn't be eating, or at least only in Oliver Twist amounts. Oh, well, I own my poor health choices.

We're having legless turkey with H's mom's stuffing. Which is basically meat loaf with ground and mixed-in giblets, cooked in as close proximity to the bird as can be managed with legless turkey. Both bird and stuffing benefit from the arrangement. There have been fork wars over the last serving of this stuffing, IJS.

And sweet potatoes and broccoli and (look away, foodies) canned cranberry jelly, which we happen to like. Followed by homemade pumpkin pie. For random, there's also homemade pumpkin bread, topped with plain yogurt--don't laugh, it's lovely!

There'll be a call to H's mom and brother, and possibly one from StY, depending on his work schedule. And we'll contemplate our contented state of affairs, and wish everyone well.

I've finished my main meal, and now I'm taking a coffee-and-kahlua break before desert. I've retrieved the tree from the storage shed, and I'm looking forward to having it add some light and color to the living room.

Sorry, Anne. I'm bogarting all the peace and quiet.

So far today I've made pumpkin pancakes, caught up on Serial, and been slept on by both cats in turn. I should probably get started on my sweet potato soup and roasted broccoli.

I am taking frequent bathroom breaks.
