Happy Thanksgiving!
Kat, you have probably already decided, but I vote ginger and garlic. That sounds particularly delicious right now.
I hope you can find breakfast, Jess, and don't encounter any more wackaloon drivers (really, spellcheck? Warckaloon is more of a word than wackaloon?)
Have a calm and relaxing day at work, Connie. And a profitable and not too stressful day for you, Theo.
Good race, meara! 5 miles, that's long! You can do it!
I stayed in bed until some light came in my window, which was awesome, and now I'm going to have some coffee. Maybe I will give the rabbits a carrot, get their Thanksgiving feast going early.
meara, have you tried microwaving scrambled eggs in a mug? Am I remembering right that you were the one thinking about it? Anyway, I am becoming a fan of microwaved scrambled eggs in a jar - it's quick, I don't need to dirty a whisk or fork to beat the eggs. and I can see how done they are through the door (important because I can never remember even the rough estimate of how long it is supposed to take). I experimented with keeping jars of mixed egg stuff in the fridge to just pop in the microwave and I'm not thrilled with how that works, but having everything but the egg in the jar ahead of time still makes for a quick and easy breakfast.

I used to do it in a one-egg sized glass bowl, which also made it the right size for an English muffine, which is generally the destination for eggs I make.
YOU GUYS. I am cracking up. KISS was in the parade, rocking the fuck OUT. They even had pyrotechnics.
And kind of the best part is that the Adventure Time balloon followed behind KISS, so it looked like Finn the human was screaming with excitement at seeing KISS. (I'm pretty sure Marceline the vampire queen would be in the KISS Army.)
Green bean casserole is now in the oven. Still need to do stuffing and mashed potatoes, plus put the pie in the oven.
There was just someone in the parade singing in Spanish. I wonder how long it'll be before the Twitter freakout.
Quvenzhene Wallis has many talents, but dancing is not one of them.
Someday I will stop eating low carb and enjoy English muffins on the regular again. Not that I am eating low carb today, but I am not eating English muffins, as it turns out. Just stuffing and pie.
I miss English muffins, because I'm too cheap to buy gluten-free ones.
That was weird. At the beginning of the parade, they'd said that Idina Menzel and Michael Buble would be doing "Baby It's Cold Outside." Turned out to be just Idina, with "All I Want For Christmas." Wonder what happened there.
I don't think it was me--scrambled eggs in a mug is one of the first things we were allowed to do as a kid with the microwave. Because I remember a time before we had a microwave. Wow.
Race was awful. For me, at least. The first mile was great. The beginning of the second mile was fine. And then I realized I really had to go to the bathroom. By the third mile I had to pee so bad I couldn't run because it was too jiggly. And I was praying there was a portapotty at the Mile 3 marker. But NO. And at that point I gave up, cut across a lawn, cut half a mile off the race, and found a bathroom, thank God. After that, the last mile and a half was great, but not only did I cheat, the middle of the race super slow so my overall time sucked. Sigh.
But it's done, and really 4.5 miles is nothing to sneeze at, and the bus came at the perfect time after we were done (it's only running once an hour today) and now I showered and had a croissant and in a few hours will go out to dinner. Maybe get everyone to watch Pangs or West Wing.
