I might take everything to Half-Price Books, take whatever pittance they give me, and set that aside as the ebook rereading fund.

Seriously, I have so many comics (like large Rubbermaid tubs full) that I haven't even looked at since I moved in with Tim literally 7 years ago. I know Half-Price Books pays virtually nothing for comics, but I'd rather do that route than throw them in the recycle bin. Maybe they can find a home. I'd rather buy digital comics or TPBs at this point.

And Utah has no Half Price Books stores. Stupid backwards state.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I like getting money for stuff, but eBay is such a pain.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

eBay is not a good option for me, because I am horrible at getting packages in the mail.

I'd rather buy digital comics or TPBs at this point.

The only reason we're picking up single issues is to support the sales numbers for specific titles. Because of course I'm going to buy the TPB of the new Edward Scissorhands comic, but I want the artist to be successful.

I keep telling myself I need to get all the digital copies of Girl Genius, but the screens I have to look at it seem awful small. Then I think of buying the dead tree versions, then I realize I'll need to do the middle-aged hold-it-out-at-arm's-length to read it thing.

Though of course I could turn a laptop sideways and get the full page . . .

Fussy fussy first world problems.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

FWIW, when I went to the actual Uber Boston office, the majority of the applicants I saw were obvious minorities, but only one other woman among them.

Today was the first day that I saw another Uber car in the wild -- while stopped in traffic, I noticed the car next to me had the app open on a dashboard holder.

Knowing the streets and general geography is a definite plus -- the navigation of the app is actually pretty good, but passenger GPS is even better. Unless they have even less clue than I do (not uncommon) in which case I'm totally justified in following the meandering course.

My cubicle neighbors are haunting various electronics sites, hunting for good Black "Friday" deals. They're calling out the ones they find to each other. "But what if there's a better deal tomorrow? Or Friday?" "I don't know, dude. Do what you gotta do."

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm watching an Iron Chef rerun, and Gina Torres is one of the judges. As usual, she looks and sounds stunning.

I keep telling myself I need to get all the digital copies of Girl Genius, but the screens I have to look at it seem awful small. Then I think of buying the dead tree versions, then I realize I'll need to do the middle-aged hold-it-out-at-arm's-length to read it thing.

One of things I like about the Marvel app on my tablet is that it zooms in, with nice resolution, on individual panels, so the text is nice and readable. It makes my middle aged eyes happy.

Gah, one of the aunts who will be at Thanksgiving tomorrow just posted an image on FB that says "I am Officer Darren Wilson."

I should just start drinking now, straight through until tomorrow night.

Now, I should note that she's honestly the first pro-Wilson post I've seen in my FB feed, because my friends list is an echo chamber (and/or people who realize that if they agree with a seriously racist imbalance of power, they shouldn't actually post about it). So in that regard I'm lucky. Where I'm unlucky is wondering if dinner tomorrow is going to be Dante's 7th ring of racist hell.
