Job transition options~ma, shrift!
I had my monthly book group tonight, which was lovely. One thing about unemployment--I'm sure getting the books read. Anyway, the host had this sort of cashew brittle with chili and lime. It was a perfect blend of sweet and hot and salty-sour. So good.
Have a great trip, sarameg!
This Claude Fuller, Matt? [link]
That's the one, Calli. I found out on a walking tour today that he went on a tear to clean up the criminal element of the city in the early 20th century and got jumped and stabbed for his trouble, resulting in the sheriff of the time beating the crap out of the brothel owner responsible and chasing his whole operation out of town.
In other news, this is somehow a less than shocking revelation: [link]
So I went to a work happy hour, which was fun, except I spilled half of my second (SECOND) beer all over two of my favorite coworkers! So then I was cut off. Ooops.
I was once cut off at a bar for spillage. I was drinking club soda at the time, but the bartender did not care. Spill and no more beverages was the rule. I guess she figured that some people just can't handle all those bubbles.
Ok, all that's left to do is stop at the 7-11 for plane snacks. And slip the mini into my bag. 3 hrs to my flight and OF COURSE I'm overthinking when I need to leave the house. Need to wait on traffic.
Woo hoo! The meeting was not looking forward to this morning just got cancelled! My big boss apologized for not telling me yesterday, but I'm just as happy to get the gift of the hour on a Friday morning. (Luckily, I didn't really have to prepare and get here well before 9 anyway.)
Dunkens spinach and artichoke bagel supreme is supremely bland.
ION, I am registered! Tried doing it online, got all the way to the final step, and their server errored on me. Was in a panic that this was proof that my registration was being denied. Sweated all through my wait at the MVC. Her computer had her frowning, panicked some more.
Hopefully this is the last of this business
Glad to hear it, Juliebird
Just ordered a heritage turkey on my phone to be delivered before Thanksgiving. Pending confirmation, of course. What an age we live in.
Oh yeah, I should think about that.
For people with tiny groups, last year I did turkey legs braised in red wine and it was incredibly delicious and so much less work than doing a whole turkey for three or four people.
I made reservations for Thanksgiving. It is just going to be K-Bug and me, and neither of us want to cook - so we are going out for dinner. Found a restaurant we like that is doing a T-Day buffet.
