Fingers crossed for you shrift!

I got Hubby's adoption papers from Hawaii on the off chance his California birth certificate had a different name on it, but California had a revised certificate with his adopted name on it. Which I didn't realize because Hawaii was a whole lot more efficient about getting documents back to me than California was, but it was fun chatting with the folks in the Hawaiian state records office. They do answer the phone with Aloha.

Mm hmm. Was it the SHORT FORM? Or are you sure he wasn't born...IN KENYA??

I spent several hours this afternoon cleaning my office and rearranging some things, because my project is almost over and I start a new one after Thanksgiving (with only a few minor things to finish up before then). So nice.

Well, he was born in California, but he went to Germany when he was 3 days old, so maybe . . .

ION, my instant miso soup is very disappointing. Very fishy. Is miso supposed to be fishy at all?

Our wings are not tired.

Cass has me drooling for Hatch Valley Salsa. I will look for that at our TJ's. Oh what a joy to finally have that option!

Fishy miso does not sound nice at all.

The reconstituted tofu wasn't bad, but the broth is getting dumped. I think I'm going to have to go get good miso tomorrow as penance.

It's not that I think my coworkers are incompetent , just some have higher learning curves to climb and are a little slower to climb and a little less adventurous) It's mostly that looking at the schedule and everything that needs to be done, there can't be a single setback without consequences, and having inexperienced people doing the setup for the first time? Is fraught. And we just lost another coworker for at least a week due to the death of his father. And he was one of the experienced ones, too.

Not gonna start packing until this load of laundry finishes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I went to a work happy hour, which was fun, except I spilled half of my second (SECOND) beer all over two of my favorite coworkers! So then I was cut off. Ooops.

Jesse's a cheap date, pass it on.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So am I! Except not really, in which I'll order more than I can eat* and wind up with a doggie bag, which isn't terribly sexy or romantic, but also great for my budget!

*appetizers only, and then I'm done.

I don't know what the hell was going on. One of those coworkers had already spilled her wine over the table. It's been a rough fall at my job!

Same here, Juliebird. By the time I've had an appetizer, or even a bit of bread and salad, I am done. At most a few bites of food and the rest goes home. If I don't have anything but dinner I know my limits and just divide it in half when I get the plate so I will have an even amount for the next meal.
