Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

-t, if you have one, you can use the tip of a bottle opener or something similar to pry the lid up just enough to let in some air, and then you can open it. I do this with pickle jars.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't have a bottle opener with me, although there might be one in the kitchen. I don't want to damage the lid, I use these lids all the time and losing one would be a hardship. If I can find a bottle opener I will attempt with great caution.

ETA: no luck. Found a can opener with a hook for bottles, but it doesn't fit under the lid

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Heading to Philcon after work tomorrow. Will pack after dinner.

Had a chat with someone today about a team I am considering joining, and now I'm more confident that I am qualified to apply for one of the open positions. I have some ideas on how to tweak my resume, too. I need to do that and schedule a follow up with hiring manager.

Maybe I will not have anxiety-induced insomnia tonight like I did last night.

Those sound like positive developments, shrift

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Dang, that is a good seal, -t. Unfortunately.

but I was worried it would be too hot for my kids

Spoiler alert, it really, really is. I think it's probably lovely Hatch chiles blended coarsely with a scant few tomatillos and a bit of lime juice. It's pretty much chopped chile. And I would marry it. But it's not mild.

There a 75% chance I'm gonna come back to a mess.

I feel like this every time I take a day off when we aren't super, super closed. So far I've been right. Annoying but I am still making myself take some of these days off. Because the problems will still be there.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh -t, what a pain!

Spoiler alert, it really, really is.

Thanks for the confirmation, Cass. It does sound yummy.

This is good.

It's crazy good. But it's not mild. Store it with the Scotch or something adult-y and enjoy without kids. Actually, if you find it, buy it all for me and I will save your kids from the spicy? It's really good.

Yeah, I hope so. I'm going to pursue this position and to continue with my decluttering plans, and try to dial down the panic a little.

brillig

I'm going through the yearly security review. It looks like management has given up on keeping people from surfing the Net during work. They're emphasizing making sure that it doesn't interfere with work and you're not doing stupid things.
